AT&T’s Focus S and Focus Flash finally pictured alongside Titan

mobile

AT&T’s first three Windows Phone 7.5 Mango devices were announced last month, but the pair of Samsung devices included in that announcement stayed behind the curtain while HTC’s Titan took center stage. Wednesday night at the AllThingsD Asia conference, Samsung’s Focus S and Focus Flash finally made their debut, and Microsoft’s Windows Phone team posted images of the phones on one a company blogs. Specs for these devices were already revealed in September; the higher-end Focus S features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, a 1.4GHz processor, HSPA+, an 8-megapixel camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera while the Focus S includes a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, a 1.4GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera and a forward-facing camera. Pricing and availability have not yet been announced. Photos of the individual devices follow below.

Well, for people who use to bitch about at&t’s lack of diversity since the iPhone… you guys should be happy. Naaaah, you’ll just find something else to bitch about now.

Are you on drugs? The biggest gripe against AT&T is how shitty their network and customer service is.

The problem with Windows phones is that they look very bland outside and inside regardless of brand, they somehow look monotonous compared to Android and IOS. Even the Windows logo looks outdated and boring, it even spoils the look of the phone. They should change it. Perhaps Nokia’s Windows phones might add more zest and colour choices when they are released.

and yes, to add on, Microsoft thinks its all about the specs that will attract the average buyer. A phone needs some ‘character’ and distinguishing looks too. At first glance, they dun make much of an impression, nor carry the ‘wow’ factor. Of these 3 phones displayed here, I wouldnt be surprised if they do not sell well like the very first Windows phones, because one could tell from the designs that the manufacturers din put in their best concepts nor throw all their eggs into Microsoft’s basket.

The focus a looks almost identical to my galaxy s 2. I had to do a double take. The focus flash had a few characteristics of the “captivate” att had as their original galaxy s. I think Sammy is trying to stock with what works.

“Microsoft thinks its all about the specs that will attract the average buyer”

Literally the exact opposite of what they say actually. Phone should be about user experience, not Specs…. Android phones are sold by specs, WP7 and iPhones are sold by experience

No, the iPhone is ONLY popular for how easy it is to use. The experience is bland compared to Android and Web OS. MS need not apply because they still seem like a joke

Typo here. The latter should be Focus Flash.

Two things I hate about these phones: the giant, obtrusive, carrier logo. No, I don’t need to be reminded that I’m on AT&T when I pull out my phone, thank you very much.

The other is, correct if I’m wrong, but none of these come with greater than 16 gb of internal storage OR expandable micro sd card slots?    What’s up with that?   I can fill up 1/3 of that alone just with movies.
