Samsung Galaxy Nexus finally announced: Android 4.0, HD display, HSPA+ and LTE versions

Breaking

Samsung and Google finally took the wraps off their latest joint effort, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and it’s a screamer. The phone is just under 7mm at its slimmest point, and it runs Google’s brand new version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0. The phone’s key specifications match up exactly with what we’ve reported previously, including a dual-core 1.2GHz CPU, a 5-megapixel camera with enhancements, a 4.65-inch 1280 x 720-pixel Super AMOLED HD display with curved glass face, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, NFC, a 1,750 mAh battery and plenty more. The phone will initially be available as an exclusive on Verizon Wireless in the U.S., 4G LTE in tow, and in other parts of the world it will feature HSPA+ in a pentaband configuration.. The handset will launch in November, and you can check out a video feed from the Galaxy Nexus unveiling event on Google’s Android channel. With Motorola’s incredible DROID RAZR announcement earlier, we have to ask… Motorola DROID RAZR or Samsung Galaxy Nexus?

What ruins it for me is that it’s android, I’d be more interested in Winblows Phone Seven than this. Now that Sprint and VZW users have a choice and T-Mobile soon will too, android’s days are numbered. As a top choice at least, WebOS, Symbian, RIM, Norm, and Grizzly will save them a spot at the virgin/loser table in the back of the auditorium…

I your circles maybe, which like mine as a fellow Goofan (aka Apple Haters) is made up of geeks that live with mom.  In other circles it’s 1. iPhone 2. iPhone 3. Android.  But I don’t care about those circles.  They are not smart like you and I.

In reality, the average consumer doesnt care about whether a phone is quad-core , duo or whatever , all they want to know is if it works ….NFC is still yet to get mass market appeal ,1 GB of RAM, its a good phone yes but i feeel these specs would be limited by the current uses of phones right now, its like building a car that moves at lightspeed for normal roads…all consumerss want to know is if ”it just works”….the people that really care about this stuff BGR, Engadget, CNET etc readers a.k.a tech junkies

is this why android the number one selling phone???

      • Anonymous

Nope.  It’s because there are upwards of 10,000 models, many of which you get paid if you buy it.  But that’s ok.  This is how we will reach 100% marketshare.

So apple only makes one, and that’s the best they can come up with? The same phone that was out two years ago? Sad!!!

Come over to Android, where you have option. We even have those little ass screens you claim you like. Well, Atleast a 3.7″.

I agree with you @davidgrundy:disqus I believe any customer that can’t pick the right phone because they can not even remember the name because it’s some weird contraption don’t deserve to be a Goofan (aka Apple Hater) like you and I.  In addition, I am like you.  I want a 27 inch phone.  The rate we are going we will have one in 1-2 years, if that long.

So it’s an expensive, bent Galaxy S II with the latest version of Android (that other phones will eventually get anyway)…. cool?

    • Motorola rules the air

Not to mention, a worse camera
