Starting to relaize that certain news gets pushed wayyy past prime hours on BGR.

  • Prof. Peabody

    Man, that’s just embarrassing.

The fact that they have to drop the price and do this kind of promotion just to garner interest in their product speaks volumes.  this is the kind of desperate move you do when you think you are almost beaten not something you do for the 2.0 launch of your product.

    • Plazmic Flame

They really need to though, not many games on Android plus it’s another hurdle figuring out which ones will be compatible with your device.

In a related story, spouses worldwide filed for divorce this week, just so they could avoid the Xoom “family” edition.

Ahhhhhh, a nice way of telling your family you are too cheap to buy an iPad.

He’s a troll. What better way to ruin androids reputation then using its logo to talk smack about it?

        Agreed

So they’re trying to push all the XOOM tablets that they haven’t been able to sell since their cataclysmic launch in February.
That’s what they get for promising 4G LTE, MicroSD functionality and Skype Mobile to Desktop Video Chat at launch and then making everyone wait almost a year. If they had sold an “Unlocked” GSM version state-side back in March I would have bought one. But, since manufacterers (like Motorola) insist on signing their secret little treaties with U.S. carriers, let them suffer the revenue loss and let them liquidate their products to kids.

When will they see this sh*t is garbage Jesus Christ Motorola got to be the dumbest company neck and neck with apple

    • Poop

So you admit android is garbage? Finally, someone with some smarts.

However comparing one of the worlds most successful companies with Motorola is gay. Comparing blackberry with moto is more accurate.

      So you fail.

I only used apple because they released a NON-4G phone to the market and know android is there main competition that’s a move Motorola would make i don’t hate apple i don’t like the way the do business.

      • Keymaker

The iPhone 4S is the same as any AT&T 4G phone minus the terrible battery life. You might mean a non LTE phone. Apple kind of likes to wait and let others test shit around and pick up things later on when all the things have been fixed. If you have tried any of the LTE devices available today you will agreed that it’s best to wait a year or so, battery life is just terrible and coverage about the same, making it not worth it at the moment.

I have had my Xoom for two days now and I am absolutely thrilled with
it. I’m very impressed with the design of Honeycomb. Having an OS that
is designed specifically for a tablet, rather than a phone, makes for a
wonderful experience. It feels more like I’m using a desktop than a
phone. I can’t wait for more tablet optimized apps to be released. The Chrome browser on the device is great. It offers true tabbed
browsing and syncs your bookmarks with your Google account. Some sites
detect it as a mobile browser, but it’s pretty easy to change the user
agent so that it appears to be a desktop browser. The Xoom is very fast and multitasks like a champ. Video, music, browsing, games.., it all works perfectly. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend the Xoom to anyone looking for a tablet.

What’s the difference between something labeled “family edition” and something that is not?  This marketing gimmickry is about as lame ass as the 4G fraud being committed by cell carriers.

Same crappy screen as on the original Xoom?

Xoom didn’t look like a bad device, but the screen was disappointing.

I think the Playbook at 299 is a better value and better tablet once the OS 2 upgrade goes through.

Hopefully this new Xoom version lost some weight, because playing with the original in the store became hard to hold after some time.
