Motorola DROID HD (RAZR/Spyder) specs revealed; said to be ‘faster than the iPhone 4S’

Exclusive

We just confirmed some of the specifications for the upcoming Motorola DROID device (DROID HD / DROID RAZR / Spyder) that Verizon Wireless and Motorola are rumored to be announcing next week, and they are monster. Here is what we have:

  • Thinner and “faster than the iPhone 4S” according to our source
  • 1GB of RAM — double the iPhone 4 and 4S
  • 1.2GHz dual-core processor
  • 4G LTE (thinnest LTE phone to date)
  • 4.3-inch display

The teaser video for this phone appears to be a direct shot at the iPhone — faster, thinner, smarter, stronger — and with the specifications above and rumored physical attributes like a case molded from Kevlar, a Gorilla Glass display and a splash-resistant coating, it looks like we’re in for quite an event next Tuesday.

Specs are great but let’s just see how it works and how much MotoBlur is on it.

What is the major difference between this phone (save for design and material build quality) and actual performance versus the already available Droid Bionic?

I don’t know about faster than the iPhone 4S especially since you can guarantee Motoblur will be on there which slows things down dramatically.

It’s still made by Motorola and running Android. That alone makes me not care if it has a 4ghz processor and 6gb of ram.

Oscar Goldman:  Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the
capability to build the world’s thinnest LTE phone. Droid HD will be
that phone. Better than it was before. Better, thinner, faster.
