During the “Let’s Talk iPhone” keynote on Apple’s campus in Cupertino, California today, Apple updated the iPod nano with a new multitouch display. Building on a number of watchband accessories that were made available for the last-generation nano, Apple has also created 16 different clock faces on the media player. Users also do not need to purchase additional accessories to take advantage of the nano during workouts; it will automatically begin tracking your walk or run. The new nano is available now and Apple is stocking seven different colors. The 16GB model is priced at $129 and the 16GB mode is priced at $149.

The nano already had a multitouch display….You could do two fingers and spin the screen around….

I don’t even own or like the device and I know that.

I have to say, the Nano touch SUCKS!  I’ve had three or four nano’s and liked them all.  However, the nano touch is all but unusable if you like to skip songs, or repeat songs while running.  You have to stop, look at the device and hit the screen.  My old Nano 4 or whatever still works and I’ll keep it until it dies, but I won’t get another Nano with the touch screen.

Tap the on/off button on top twice to skip songs.

Actually, I use the “tap on/off button” trick to pause.  Sorry, it just sucks!  The advantage and the reason I bought it was the built in clip.  However, had I had any idea what a pain the “touch” controls would be, I wouldn’t have gotten it.

it is your choice to use the “tap on/off button” trick to pause. it seems like you would use the skip track feature more when running. not that big of an issue

Bluetooth support is a requirement for any new MP3 music player.

I couldn’t agree more.  I was so hoping they would add BT to the Nano this year.
