Motorola DROID RAZR (Spyder), ATRIX 2, XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition tablet leaked

mobile

Motorola may have big plans for the holiday season, at least according to a few new leaks from This is my next. Official press shots of the AT&T ATRIX 2 and its brand new Laptop Dock 100 accessory were spilled recently, as were details on an unannounced Motorola Spyder smartphone and two models of the XOOM 2 tablet. Last week we published an exclusive first look at the ATRIX 2 and now several of the phone’s specs have supposedly been confirmed. It is equipped with a 4.3-inch display with a qHD resolution, 8GB of storage, 1GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel camera. Details on the Laptop Dock 100 are still slim but This is my next did report that it has a smaller 10.1-inch display. Hit the break for more.

The Motorola Spyder may end up on Verizon Wireless as the “DROID RAZR.” It is said to be equipped with Motorola’s first ever qHD-resolution Super AMOLED screen, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, support for Verizon’s 4G LTE network, an 8-megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p video, 1GB of RAM and a front-facing camera. The Spyder will also support Motorola’s Laptop Dock.

Motorola reportedly also has two new tablets coming down the pipeline: the XOOM 2 and a thinner, lighter XOOM 2 Media Edition. The XOOM 2 has a 10.1-inch display, is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, is capable of recording 1080p video, has 1GB of RAM and is just 9mm thick. The XOOM 2 Media Edition has a smaller 8.2-inch Gorilla Glass display but other specs are slim at this point.

It is still unclear when all of these devices will make it to the market, but the leaked press shots of the ATRIX 2 suggest that might be the first among these new devices to get official.

    Possibly first?

That Spyder better be damn thin if they’re gonna bust out the RAZR name again.

I also hope the specs are true!!

Dual-core is so last season… ;-) Holding out for quad-core now as an upgrade to my SGS2 (and for my first tablet purchase).

    • Andretti2006

Then quad is going to be old

Might as well shoot for the Hexacore phones of the future then.

You have a valid point, with quad-core right around the corner why buy dual-core now; it would be a waste of a new purchase. I just hope by the time Motolag gets their upcoming product line launched they will have certainly thought about finalizing their respective hardware and not make those poor first tech-hungry souls (who will undoubtedly jump on the band wagon the first month) wait 10 months for Micro SD or 4G LTE functionality; can anyone say XOOOOOOM (dud)? I’m so glad I didn’t buy Verizon’s version. And, I’ve waited so long for the XOOM GSM to come state-side (never happened) that I went out and bought a used (but in MINT BRAND NEW condition) Samsung Galaxy Tab T-Mobile T849; I already rooted and flashed Gingerbread 2.3.3 with Skype Video (using the front camera) and restored all of my Angry Birds Games (with progress levels) from my Droid X (Sensei-Mob. 602) on tablet. And, loving it!!! Thanks, Motolag for taking your damn sweet time updating your hardware.

they need to stop wasting time figuring out how to cram oodles of cores in there and work on extending battery life. LTE is amazing but kills battery. All these awesome games and graphics kick ass, but they also murder battery. Just like the “small phone” phase died off, the “We have 2Million cores more than the other guy” will die off and the “our battery lasts forever” phase (hopefully) will begin.

That’s precisely why I’m holding off for the quad-core generation. Take a look at what’s in store with Kal-El (nVidia’s upcoming tech): four core beast when you need it, and a single low-power core when you don’t = (hopefully= decent battery life.

    NFC enabled or bust.

If the Droid RAZR as shown here ends up on Verizon by the holidays then I know I will have made the right choice in not using my upgrade on the Bionic.  As awesome as that phone is, maybe the Droid RAZR is even better.  It will be interesting to compare the two when it comes out.

    • Anonymous

Agreed.  If it drops on VZW, it’ll be what the Bionic should have been.

Looks like it could be a good selection for the holidays: Razr/Spyder, Vigor, and Prime.  What to get, what to get?

    • Anonymous

Agreed, Bionic is lacking especially given that long-ass delay.

I just hope they keep vanilla Android on the Xoom’s. Looks likely considering their new investor, but stranger things have happened.

Meh… wait till the Win8 tablets come out.  Already have an iPad & SGT10.1 and overall nice but without Windows to have the software I really want/need, these Android/iOS tablets are just media/content viewers, not content creators.

    • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

Tablets aren’t meant to replace computers, you should have known that before purchasing one. The Windows tablet is a whole new deal though.

      • http://www.facebook.com/TheBigSaxon Daniel Stutzman

Considering I’m a full time developer & a Solutions Architect I knew exactly what I was buying.  I bought them because I’m develop applications for iOS, Android & WP7.  In terms of what the tablet is capable of, Windows 8 will truly take the tablet to the next level because of the ability to create content instead of just view it.

    • http://twitter.com/NatesVlogs Nate Fisher

why do people like you continue to spout your bs? Why would you buy 2 FRICKIN’ tablets without testing them to see if they do what you need them to do? If you’re going to lie at least keep it believable.

      • http://www.facebook.com/TheBigSaxon Daniel Stutzman

My BS?  Why did I buy 2 tablets… Can you keep a secret?  I actually have 4 tablets.  Why, because I develop & then sell applications for those tablets.  Being that I work with very high level technology everyday, I understand what I’m getting into and my point was that that Windows 8 in the tablet form will take the tablet form as we know it now as a content viewer to a content creator.

And for calling me a liar, you’re my #1 Internet Asshole of the day.

8 GB storage?  16 GB should be the standard now.

Since this is all most likely pre Google, I’m still on the fence. I’d like to see a full on Google/Motorola collaboration. All the above mentioned MOTO products are slight improvements at best. With the iphone 5 looming, these announcements will be more of the same at best, and irrelevant and too late at the worst. Bring on the next generation already (or at least tease us with it)!
Also, with Microsoft joining the party (I say “joining” because their previous entries have been remarkably underwhelming and inept), the already hot handheld product market should heat up tremendously over the next year or so. Can’t wait!

    Wow, another android phone…. sweet!

    • Anonymous

Yes, more choices – we as consumers win!

  • jcp22

android phone naming has to be done by a 13 year old boy.

    • Anonymous

I take full credit, thank you.

    • Anonymous

vs. a 5 year old that named iPhone, iPad.

  • http://twitter.com/MattSTKC MattSTKC

so I hope those are just crappy testing shells for the Xooms. Those look like the bottom of a 90′s HP laptop. And not in a good way (if that could ever be taken as a compliment).

motoblur is going to single handily screw these devices….. the atrix is a awesome phone but the software is a nightmare

  • Anonymous

It’s a shame Moto has a locked bootloader, Razr looks good, but not running that bad UI.  I love HTC, but would love better battery life more.

  • Anonymous

So the Atrix 2 in not compatible with the Atrix 1 !!!! or is it, would apple get away with having a differnt dock with every iphone, NO, thats why they ship the plastic bits with them for different ipods, thats what motorola need to do.  1 dock for all phones.

  • Securitywiz

so why a xoom2 or should i say xoom 1.5 moto? seriously you have finished rolling out 3.1 and 3.2 to all of your current customersvto fix their issues and improve their tablet experience. the xoom2 should be just that, your quad core tablet with ICS for the holidays

  • Patrick Sullivan

with that new xoom media amazon could be really screwed if motorola prices it right. especially if the rumors that the kindle tablet is being rushed.
