Microsoft launches Bing Deals website

Retail

Microsoft announced and launched a new deals website on Friday tied to its growing Bing suite of services. Bing Deals is a shopping site that compiles specials from GroupOn, Target, LivingSocial, Nordstrom and others. “Instead of building another program, we’re harnessing deals from major providers and retailers,” said Bing senior director Lisa Gurry. Microsoft’s Bing Deals offers more than 200,000 specials across the United States and, as a deal aggregator, it should eliminate the need to sign up for email alerts from multiple coupon-based services. Just like competing options, Microsoft will offer daily specials that will be accessible from its desktop website located at http://bing.com/deals and from mobile devices.

Bring back Jellyfish. It is sorely missed, and Bing bought it and shut it down.

Bing cash back was nice, wish they would bring it back

They would, but I think it didn’t work out for them, so now they have a better idea that doesn’t require them to shell out the money to cover the deals.

They’ve lost billions of dollars trying to get bing off the ground.

Microsoft might sometimes be late to the plate, but I must admit their strategy is very interesting. A lot of people never understand MS strategies. Like the acquisition of Skype. Will MS be bypassing AT&T and Verizon in the future by offering VOIP calls to landmine and mobile phones. AT&T never liked the Skype – MS combination. Since Windows 8 will be supporting this technology on labtops, PC’s, tablets etc. this is going to be the big question. The report this week that Google is experimenting with wireless telephony (VOIP) in Spain, means that Google understands where MS is going and does not want to be left behind. This Bing Deals strategy kills the competition in one blow, in the same way that W8 will be killing tablets by incorporating W8 in all devices (PC, tablets, TV’s, labtops, decoders etc, why would you buy a seperate tablet if your labtop screen is a tablet). Since W8 MS calls all of these devices a tablet, try to figure out why they are doing this. Bing Deals,  will kill the competition who develop their own deals programs (like Google’s). Google will not have the option to create it’s own program, but only to make a similar partnership like MS. Like I said MS is often late to the plate, but will deliver a killing blow to the competition. They have the time, the cash, the knowlegde and the patience to succees in the long run.

Well what do you know I’m shocked, Microcrap’s Ballmer and Tribe Bonzo may have had a good idea for once.

Everybody knows that google is better at doing everything. At least it isn’t the nearly dead Yahoo we are talking about. Yes I dislike BING to no end but Yahoo takes the cake for being full of crap these days.
