If you still are considering the iPhone, Android is not for you ..

luckily for him, it’s a free and open market to decide. Thanks for your input though.

Still can’t believe it I just got a 827.89 iPa d2 for only 106.37 and my mom got a 1499.99 HTV for only 251.92, they are both coming with US PS tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prîces . I sold a 37″ HTV to my boss for 600 that I only paid 78.24 for. I use jmb.tw/52bf

I’m moving from the iPhone 4 to either this or the HTC Titan!

It is a tough decision. I’m switching from my iPhone 4 to the Galaxy S II. But you know what, I’m still nervous about it. But I need to explore Android and give it a year or two of a try to know if it is everything I am expecting it to be. I’ve had an iPhone for 2 years, first the 3GS, then the 4.

Depends on why you like your iPhone. I have apps that I can’t give up, love the battery life and I haven’t found a good email solution that works the way iOS does. I also don’t like troubleshooting my battery life, restarting my phone or feeling like I’m constantly having to change things to make things work the way they should. That said, Android has improved alot, but the overall polish still leaves something to be desired.

Had the first Galaxy S so my view of Samsung is tarnished after all the problems I had with that phone, but so far it seems the new one is darn good, but since it hasn’t been out in the US long we really don’t know for sure.

Congrats Att fans!!  now want to hear the Announcement of the T-Mobile version, the Sprint version looks so Amazing.  Just wish the resolution was a bit higher, not getting the phone waiting for the next Nexus but really want to play with this one a bit.

Great news for those aligned with AT&T. Still waiting on Verizon to launch an equally equipped Android super phone.

So does this rule out an immediate Nexus launch on AT&T?

    • Anonymous

My guess is Verizon will have their version of the Nexus (Droid Prime) before other carriers receive their own.  LTE could weigh in for AT&T, because their LTE phones aren’t supposed to roll out until the end of the year.  I prefer LTE to HSPA+, so I think it’s worth waiting for.  The next Nexus phone is rumored to have both CDMA and GSM versions.  I have faith in AT&T and Google.  Google intends to let this compete head to head with the iPhone5 on the two biggest fronts in the US—Verizon and AT&T.  Game on!  I don’t expect it to beat the iPhone 5 in sales, but I do expect it to be the better device.  Better OS and better hardware.  We know the screen will have a better resolution and better color saturation—Super AMOLED Plus HD is just unbeatable IMO.  I expect the dual-core 1.5 GHz TI OMAP 4 to outpace the A5 easily.  Ice Cream Sandwich finally brings accelerated hardware to the mobile Android phone.  Leaks I’ve read have put the Nexus Prime through the paces, and it seems the UI is smooth as butter with nothing being able to slow it down.  Open as many apps as you’d like—Android monitors the available RAM as it always has for multitasking and will autokill.  Task Killers are for the uneducated.  Flip through a bunch of menus.  Doesn’t faze it.  This is all rumored speculation of course.

Buying this phone to hold me over until the Nexus Prime…anyone know how much this is gonna be off-contract?

    • Anonymous

      600+ at least money bags

      • Anonymous

is that alot of money for something you carry with you everywhere for a year or more? if it lives up to expectations, that is

  • Joshua Naylor

Hopefully we don’t have to wait too much longer for some official news on the Nexus… but I doubt Samsung would want to outshine their US GS2 launch…

Verizon just launched LTE here in Austin and soon in my home town (South Bend) – it’s making me want to drop my grandfathered plan on att and switch.

    • Scott Duffy

Isn’t Austin one of the first 5 initial markets for AT&T LTE? I know they picked 2 or 3 cities in Texas.

      Iphone 4 and Iphone5 and… Iphone 4S ?

Already got one. Anyone know the correct APN to enable HSPA+ on this beast? Tried a couple off the web and both interfered with MMS operations…

  • RH

    Screen isn’t large enough ;)
Once you go to a 5″ screen, kind of hard to go back to anything less than 4.5″ ;)

    2 things from me…

1 – my hands are small and i get pissed off having to find the power button…what’s wrong with the physical home button on the bottom?

2 – if someone has a solution (yes, i’m rooted on D2) that allows you to wake your “capacitive touch only” phone with no physical buttons at the bottom….PLEASE give me some help….

    Ashley

    • http://www.droiddoes.com/ Norm

How small are your hands that such an issue even is relevant? Do you only have one hand?

    • Steve Lee

Stay with your D2. The world is not ready to meet everyones physical condition at the moment.
Just like they do not have handycap access everywhere..
Hopefully that answered some of your question.

us carriers + samsung = poop. I waited sooo long for this phone…. Finally!  A worthy Android phone!

Uggggg. Timing sucks. iPhone 5 will crush it. I may be the only person on the planet to buy one.

      Wrong post at wrong place

  • http://twitter.com/computer_tweets KW

Why is the US version 4.3″ when Samsung’s website has it at 4.5″?

    • Anonymous

That’s to help produce UI fragmentation. Sadly, your fingers don’t scale when the UI does.

  • http://twitter.com/NCMattJ Matt Johnson

….aaaand it get’s 4 hours of battery life.

    • Steve Lee

if you get 4 hour battery life on samsung galaxy series phone … you need to learn how to use android phones

      • dwinsmith

True, you should be getting at least 5-6.

      • Anonymous

That’s the kind of logic that makes apple the king of this market. People shouldn’t have to “learn” anything to use their phones. They should just be intuitive and work well.

If only I knew what the no-contract price is. I hope it’s the same as @ Sprint ($499).
