Motorola ATRIX 2 images and details revealed

Exclusive

BGR has just been given photos of the follow up to the original Motorola ATRIX 4G, the Motorola ATRIX 2, internally known as the Motorola Edison. The Motorola ATRIX 2 will not be an LTE device according to our source, though the phone will launch with a dual-core processor (either 1.2 or 1.5GHz TI OMAP, we’d assume), an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture, and Android Gingerbread 2.3.5. We weren’t given a launch time-frame, though we’d expect the phone to touch down in the next few months, most likely around Thanksgiving. Check out all of the photos in our Motorola ATRIX 2 gallery!

Laptop Dock compatibility or GTFO AT&T/Moto.

Most of the problems people have had with the original are indeed software based, and unfortunately not easily addressed without much time browsing XDA-Developers. Feature wise, I still think this is one of the better phones. I love the LED notification, noise cancelling mics and fingerprint scanner.  That being said, I think the Tegra 2 is still not properly optimized in software, makes most Snapdragon/TI device seem overall smoother with casual use.

I think capacitive buttons with the proper sensitivity settings work okay, but they are just not as gratifying to use as well constructed physical keys. The NexusOne had an overall crappy touch panel, which also made the touch keys freak out once in a while. I imagine it is cheaper to manufacture capacitive sensors. They are probably also less likely to break. I agree, the form factors are starting to blend together.

    Anyone have already this Motorola
ATRIX 2? I’m on it’s web icons and speed. Or maybe LTE phone is better than this
I really want a new phone, that’s why I need to choose the best one.

I want 4G phone not LTE, 4G is smoother. Almost all phones
that are coming out this year are just the same.  Still this one has a good looking phone.  Toolbar icons of my old phone is very simple,
and I look for many one and its all the same.

Motorola ATRIX 2 is nice, I can now easily install my icons
for iPad. Many will feel bad when this ATRIX 2 becomes an LTE and I hope it won’t.

Will this also not be able to do Skype video calls, just like the original Atrix?
