Samsung to target upcoming iPhone 5 in next wave of patent complaints

As Apple and Samsung continue to battle incessantly over patents, a new report claims South Korea-based Samsung Electronics is preparing a new offensive that will target Apple’s iPhone 5. Apple has yet to unveil its next-generation iPhone but according to a report from The Korea Times, Samsung is already preparing an attack on the device. “Just after the arrival of the iPhone 5 here, Samsung plans to take Apple to court here for its violation of Samsung’s wireless technology related patents,” an unnamed Samsung executive reportedly told The Korea Times. “For as long as Apple does not drop mobile telecommunications functions, it would be impossible for it to sell its i-branded products without using our patents. We will stick to a strong stance against Apple during the lingering legal fights.” Apple is expected to unveil its next-generation iPhone 5 in the coming weeks.

      But to your point, just where has Apple threaten to sue an _unreleased_ product.   It’s one thing to get a product, dissassemble it and see it copying patented technology…  It’s another thing to woof “Not in OUR house” and stand in Seoul and beat your chest, like some boy, who got kicked in the shin, with one foot inside his mother’s house yelling at the boys actually competing out on the football pitch.

    what i laugh at, no one is mentioning microsoft who did the best in the patent wars so far.  they either play nice or all suffer from these wars.  ultimately, it will be us paying these fees

    If APPLE hadnt started these law suits we would be talking bout new tech or anything else. Apple is still afraid to admit their afraid of Samsung. All Apple cares bout is their stocks stays on top and only care bout being number 1.

      Samsung copies anything that isn’t nailed down. They first tried to do it with the Samsung instinct which was a big failure.. Android thanks to Google came along and they finally started to improve their copy designs. Now, if Apple releases something, Samsung can have a knock off out within six months if that..

      Samsung redesigned their slate after they saw the iPad.. Its a Korean knock off company ripping off an American company, and to sue them before the product is even seen makes them sound like a spoiled brat. How would Samsung like it if they couldn’t sell their product in America? I bet they would reconsider their stance..
