Microsoft shows off Windows 8 Metro apps on video

We’ve already seen an 11-minute walk-through video comparing a new Windows 8 beta tablet to an iPad 2 running iOS 5, but there are plenty of features Microsoft is cooking up that didn’t make it into the beta release of the OS. In a new video, Microsoft highlights a handful of currently unavailable applications that make use of the oft-praised Metro user interface Windows 8 borrowed from the Windows Phone platform. In the video, Microsoft shows off several apps including Mail, Calendar, People, Messaging and Photos, which features seamless Facebook and Flickr integration. The People application also features Facebook integration, pulling Facebook friends and address book contacts into a single stream. Microsoft’s full demo video follows below.

        ,,,. I just got a 827.89$ iPad2 for only 101.17$ and my mom got a 14989.89$ HTV for only 253.93$, they are both coming tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prîces at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37″ HTV to my boss for 500$ that I only paid 78.24$ for.

        Of course it won’t – they’ll have to be recompiled for ARM. This article, however, has nothing to do with ARM – it has to do with Metro.

    honestly I cant wait for this. A good majority of people just spend time on Social networks and media sites anyways. Get some good third party metro apps in the marketplace and you could just chill in Metro most of the time. Then when you need to do real work, just switch on over

      The majority of people who spend most of their time on social networks are losers with no real friends. If I wanted to social network I’d join Facebook but I don’t want a social network what I want is a real fu%king computer not Microcraps version of a crApple iToy.

    Something they don’t mention in the video is how you select a pic, you just slide it don’t. Don’t even have to worry about accidentally opening as you touch the pic sliding the interface.  It’s awesome.  I do wish they do use a darker background for those apps because white ain’t right. lol. but seriously, no.

Hey Fat Kid Ballmer I want a real friggin OS not Microcrap’s desktop version of crApple’s iOS rolled into The Evil Empires Android. If I was running Windows 8 I wouldn’t know whether to check my mail or just get my rifle and shoot the screen?
