LG fixes iPad 2 display issues and boosts panel shipments

In early August, we reported that Apple started boosting its iPad 2 display panel orders with Samsung after LG’s panels failed to meet the iPad maker’s quality requirements. DigiTimes said on Friday that LG has addressed the quality issues and has now boosted its shipments back to their original levels. The South Korea-based company reportedly shipped 4 million 9.7-inch iPad 2 panels during the month of August, up from the 2.4-2.5 million it shipped in July, and it is expected to maintain its current volume through September. Taiwan Economic News said Foxconn-owner Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. has boosted its projected iPad 2 shipments for the third quarter to 20 million units, although DigiTimes said Apple is expected to ship 12-15 million iPad 2 devices.

      ,, awesomeee, I just got a $829.99 iPad2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prîces at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37″ HDTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for.

    It took them how many months again??? Apple still never formally recognized the problem. I suppose people were just looking at the display wrong.

    I actually bought an ipad 2 on launch day and they returned for another and both had really bad light bleed issues. Ended up getting the ipad 1 on sale at verizon for 299. I check apple’s ipad forum every now and then and was amazed that the issue was still not fixed.

    hey does anyone with an iPad 2 have really bad screen ghosting? Like, moving stuff on the screen gets really blurry because the refresh rate is really slow. 

    i might return it for a replacement later. :(  but i’m not sure if it’s normal or not, so someone please check…

    i dont understand this, if apple was suing me, and then they tried to order stuff from me, i would give them the finger. from my understand, no one but samsung and lg can make the displays that apple wants.

      Pretty smart SPAM.  The poster’s algorithm takes a quote out of the article then posts the SPAM underneath.  I was actually tricked into reading it since it wasn’t obviously SPAM.  It is more like SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM eggs and SPAM (That’s Monty Python for you younger folks).  I’d try your “advertising” approach except that I have a soul and a conscience.  I know I’m talking to a robot here, does that make me crazy?
