LG denies mobile business layoffs

Business

On Thursday, reports surfaced suggesting LG was laying off 30% of its mobile business workers overseas. The firm denied the rumors on Friday, however, stating “We are always looking at opportunities to improve the performance of our mobile business but no decision has been made as to any job reductions,” according to Reuters. Korea Economic Daily said on Thursday that LG was letting go of 30% of its mobile employees in an attempt to turn around its struggling mobile business, and LG said the report was simply “speculation.” The article also said the Korean-based company had plans to begin domestic layoffs in the near future.

    To Samsung, HTC and LG:

Take a look at HP, Dell and Acer. This is your future.

HP, Dell and Acer are for the most part, one dimensional companies. You mean to say a company like Samsung which is COMPLETELY self-sufficient in the mobile space, will be in trouble?? You’ve got my vote for dumbest comment of 2011…

,.. awesomee, I just got a $829.99 iPad2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prîces at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37″ HDTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for.

We Goofans (aka Apple Haters) would prefer to see Apple lay off EVERYONE of their employees.  Most, if not all, of my fellow Android lovers dream of the day comes where the headline is:

“Apple Laying Off 45,000 people or almost 100% of their workforce, a big part of which is right here in the good ‘ol US of A!!!!!”

Any Asian company that makes DROIDS is A okay in my book. American companies like Apple and M$ need to go under.

I agree.  F*ck over Americans every time is what I say.  We Americans need to support Korea and Taiwan.  These countries are the true innovators.  We Americans need a wake up call.  We don’t do anything but copy the Koreans and the rest of the world.  This is why I support all lawsuits against Apple and M$.

So, Android users are anti-American? Is that really the stance you’re wanting to take?

I don’t believe so. But we believe that Foxconn is Apple and we forget that Apple has tens of thousands of employees, a lot of which are in the US, and we want them out of work because we don’t believe Apple is a technology company. happy?

Maybe BGR should post more unconfirmed “reports”, only to back-peddle a day later.
