Internal memo points to Sprint iPhone 5 launch in early October

A purported internal memo sent by Sprint management suggests the carrier is set to launch Apple’s fifth-generation iPhone in early October. ”Due to the possibility of a major phone launch in October we are blacking out September 30th through October 15th,” the memo reads, referring to employee vacations which apparently may not be taken between the dates specified. Vacation blackouts are common at carriers during major device launches to ensure retail locations are well-staffed to accommodate increased foot traffic. Numerous reports have suggested that Sprint will launch the iPhone 5 in October, and BGR exclusively reported last week that Best Buy is gearing up to take Sprint iPhone 5 pre-orders early next month.

      SPRINT will most likely, three week from today, get two versions of the iPhone:

      1. iPhone 5 WiMax single choice capacity, for example 16 GB, no multiple choices (8/32/64/128)

      2. iPhone 4 3G CDMA very likely for Prepaid only.

    Interesting, and yet, I work for Sprint and there has been no such announcement, AND I have scheduled vacation right in the middle of this time. AND I am a product ambassador too, which means at this point, every part of Sprint should be getting prepared for this in all aspects, but all I see in my division of things is Epic 4g Touch is up next. Nothing else.

    Also (CON) is a retail employee email address, and announcements come from someone with a (BMG) email address. The official is no comment so well see what Apple and Sprint have to say when it actually becomes offical. I hate speculation, its a crappy trait and it shows how much time people actually have to waste.

    The iPhone 5 may lead to my abandonment of Android.  Widgets, Customizations and rooting are fun and interesting, but the stuttering Android UI transitions, random lags, and random reboots have tired me out over the past 2 years.  And yes, I have tried various custom ROMs.  In the end, I want what works.
