iTunes 10.5 beta 8

We’re only (presumably) a few weeks away from Apple’s Fall iOS event, and the company seems to be getting most of its ducks in a row. Apple has just released iTunes 10.5 beta 8 for developers, and it contains support for iTunes Match like the previous beta. Sorry iPhone devs — no iOS 5 beta 8 just yet. Apple notes the following issues with the latest iTunes beta:

  • Songs in unsupported formats will not be uploaded to iCloud at this time.
  • The scan & match feature is not yet complete.
  • Some songs may not match (even if they is available in the iTunes Store) and will be uploaded to iCloud.
  • Other songs may match to a different version of the same song on the iTunes Store.
  • You can only add music to iCloud from more than one computer at a time.
  • After updating to iOS 5 beta 7, your music may fail to play.  If this happens, turn of

Welcome to iBGR. Personally I like them, but can see why most don’t.

Mac OS only for now. No Windows version yet.

Hopefully that means GM next week, iPod event the following Wednesday, and public release the Wednesday after that.

    iTunes??? Yuck…..

Yes, I’ll agree that iTunes for Windows has been a hot mess since release. Seemingly getting slower and more bloated with each iteration. However, iOS5 might as well be called “iTunes Liberation OS5.” If you really, really want to, the only time you’ll have to connect your iDevice with iTunes is to install iOS5. After that it’s all wireless.

Someone REALLY messed up that quote. The whole thing was posted twice, and I’m guessing “You can only add music to iCloud from more than one computer at a time.” is supposed to be “You can only add music to iCloud from one computer at a time.”.

Editing is for pansies. Right Mr. Gellar?

My god I hope that is not the actual content that was included in Apple’s notes.  I know companies aren’t proofreading things anymore, but that’s just atrocious!

Steve is gone for a couple of weeks and Apple is already f*ucking up.

What’s up with the repeating it twice and the REALLY bad grammar? Apple wouldn’t officially send something out like that. Especially not something that says “You can only add music to iCloud from more than one computer at a time.” Shouldn’t that say “You can only add music to iCloud from one computer at a time”?

How about bringing back the Backup to Disk and add support for bluray. No backup feature since 10.3.1.
I know they want to sell the cloud service but I want to be able to backup my locally stored files via iTunes.

The last Itunes update wouldn’t even let me access the store. I had to uninstall everything and it took an extra to even figure this out. Seriously Steve Mobbs or whomever is on the throne right now just go away.
