Best Buy anticipating iPhone 5 for Sprint, preorders starting next month

Exclusive

Thanks to a leaked document from a Best Buy source, we have discovered that Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores are anticipating taking preorders for the iPhone 5 starting in the first week of October. What’s a tad bit more interesting, however, is the mention (and further anticipation) that Sprint will be carrying the iPhone 5 at launch. Best Buy makes sure to note that Apple product introduction and launch dates are subject to change, but a preorder date changing is pretty different from a new carrier getting a phone for the first time.

UPDATE: Our source clarified that it’s actually possible presales will be starting this week with the phone arriving in the first week of October, not preorders starting in October.

Thanks, Tee!

Ya are arguing over nothing. The Iphone is not worth getting on sprint unless it has 4G Modem. If it is  just a normal 3g iphone im just gonna skip. I rather have a  Iphone 5 with 4G/lte but then again i rather stick with android and root it and not pay for tethering.

So you won’t be one of the millions of Sprint customers buying the iPhone 5, is that what you are saying?

not worth buying if it does not have a 4g/lte modem.

There’s no way an iPhone 5 intro will occur this week.  Why?  History.  Apple ALWAYS gives media a week advance notice.  Look through the last bunch of events. The invites are always sent a week ahead of time.  No media events scheduled this week.

I just got a $829.99 iPad2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prices at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37″ HDTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for. I use PennyOrder.comONLY

Why would anyone reserve a hot cellphone at BBY? They have totally blown all the new phone introductions in the past, especially the Thunderbolt. Just get it at an Apple store, where they will (a) have extra employees on shift release day (b) actually know how to use the device and (c) get you up and running fast.

Has anyone noticed the the fact of the Bad typo in this?  ”Entertainement”, immediately leads me to believe this is fake….at least I would hope best buy has someone who can type better.

BestBuy is not preordering these yet. Went through my premiere silver account concierge and then the online sales guys and got the lightning fast “not at this time” answer. I’m sure they have information as to when that will be, but it’s not today.

I just talked to a Best Buy mobile phone rep, and he said they are not taking preorders for the IPhone 5 or does he know anything that’s officially came down about its launch in early October.  So, all one can do is keep their fingers crossed.
