Motorola XOOM 4G LTE upgrade begins next week

Tablets

Motorola has started to email XOOM customers to alert them that it will begin to upgrade the XOOM with support for 4G LTE next week. According to Droid-Life, Motorola will start with business and government customers during a “pilot program” first and then will begin updating XOOMs owned by the general public. Customers will need to file an upgrade request before Motorola mails a package containing a pre-paid FedEx box and instructional material. Motorola suggests backing up the data on your XOOM before sending it in and said the process should take approximately three business days. Read on for an image confirming the details.

Stupid. It’s like buying a car without wheels.

Not really. More like buying a car without nitro….everything else works great in the car you just dint have a turbo boost engine.

ί got an iPad 2-(32GB)  for $ 23.87 and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $ 38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $ 657 which only cost me $ 62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, http://to.ly/b0FH</em

What???? Is this a hardware upgrade or the software? I thought the hardware upgrade was available a long time ago.

I guess this is good news for around 100 customers that bought that thing and still have it around.

the idea of having to send it in is kinda dumb
but at least the turnaround time isnt too bad

Wow that sucks. What’s taking them so long? My droid charge is supposed to run 2.3  but I still have not gotten shit. I love the phone but there should be no excuse of delaying upgrades especially when the software has been there for almost  9 months. If they continue with this business, this would be my 1st and last android device. I mean the phone should of came in with the latest software. My next phone will be nokia running windows phone 7. At least they are consistent with there upgrades just like apple.

So really, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was the first tablet with LTE… way to fall asleep at the wheel Moto!

Well, it’s a month later than these posts.

I bought my Xoom last Sunday at Verizon and was told, past tense, that people ARE and HAVE BEEN mailing them in to Moto … seems like maybe not?

I registered mine and 3 days later not heard a word.

Why do Verizon not tell you … ONE DAY … you’ll get a call?

I only have 14 days to test it out so I will likely return mine as we need to use it for its 4GLTE capability.
