Samsung confirms it will not buy HP's computer business

Samsung will not buy HP’s computer business, the company confirmed on Wednesday.”The recent rumors that Samsung Electronics will be taking over Hewlett-Packard Co.’s personal computer business are not true,” Samsung said in a brief note on its official global blog. “We hope this clarifies any confusion that may have occurred.” Reports surfaced on Tuesday that suggested the South Korea-based tech giant was interested in purchasing HP’s PC unit in an effort to shoot past Dell and become the world’s largest PC manufacturer. HP confirmed last week that it may spin off its PC division.

        They should accept the fact that the THICK, BULKY HP Touchpad made of CHEAP plastic is a FAILURE just like the  FAILED palm pre that was made to masquerade as an ipod and sync with itunes before getting blocked. Palm had the audacity to complain to USBIF and were slapped by USBIF.

      ì just got an iPad 2 (32G) for $ 23.87 and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $ 38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $ 657 which only cost me $ 62.81 to buy.     Of course not, everything that HP has is sub-standard to the market(including it’s subsidiaries). It couldn’t even come close to a samsung machine and they are barely in the PC business in the US.

    If HP’s computer business was a winner they wouldn’t be looking to dump it.  So why would Samsung, or anybody else, want to absorb a loser?

    so those reports circulating were just purely rumor and now puts to an end.maybe samsung consider on re branding of their laptop computer.
