New report resurrects T-Mobile iPhone 5 rumor

mobile

Will wonders never cease? Just one day after The Wall Street Journal reported Sprint will begin selling Apple’s iPhone 5 in October, a new report resurrects rumors that T-Mobile will also launch Apple’s fifth-generation phone later this fall. Apple blog MacTrast claims T-Mobile will launch the new iPhone in early to mid-October, citing “a contact within T-Mobile who claims to have been briefed on the matter.” BGR exclusively published photos this past April revealing that Apple has indeed been testing an iPhone model compatible with T-Mobile’s 3G network. We also speculated in early July that Apple would launch its iPhone on all major U.S. carriers this fall. Apple’s next-generation smartphone is expected to be unveiled in late September or early October alongside a revamped, less expensive iPhone 4.

    Throwback Thursday: Android

    • Anonymous

ì just got an iPad 2 (32G) for $ 23.87 and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $ 38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $ 657 which only cost me $ 62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, http://to.ly/b0tD

Yeah, yeah bake a pie, eat a pie…

Seriously though, this is going to be a tough road a head for Android.  Sprint, now AT&T-Mobile.

    • Relaxed01

Android will be fine.  Compelling reasons to take a Android over iPhone.

        what are they?

Not everyone wants an iPhone. I’m still unsure why apple fanboys think everyone wants apple products. Some of them are nice and they are designed well, but the operating system is for toddlers. No thanks.

      • http://profiles.google.com/the1aboveall James Padilla

I’m no fanboy as I actually have an EVO 3D.  I’m stating my views.  You dont like the iPhone don’t buy it, someone else will.  Plain and simple.

Not everyone wants an Android. I’m still unsure why android fanboys think everyone wants google products. Some of them are nice and they are designed well, but the platform is fragmented, there’s pre-installed crapware you can’t get rid of, lacks quality apps or games, the OS is ugly, the Market is filled with disgusting dogfighting, baby killing apps and IP theft and there is the constant threat of malware. No thanks.

        See what I did there?

iPhone also gets maleware and all types of shit, but like the Mac comparison with PC, every idiot overlooks it. It may be nice and all, but you all have to admit it, you buy an iPhone and then you’re Apple’s bitch. Main reason why people switch to Android phones is if you get bored with one thing, you can easily customize and change to something completely different. With iPhone you’re stuck with the lame wallpaper and icon look. Now Android isn’t better as well, but you’d have to be an advance user like I am to keep your phone running fine. With the iOS it’s Apple doing it for you. Therefore most people who are not brainwashed by Apple and are developers will be insulted by this.

Great argument, bud. Your phone is more difficult to use than an iPhone. Sounds awesome!

      • Anonymous

I never understand the whole iPhone is for toddlers/stupid/simple people. Can you explain why Android or any other OS is for grown ups/smart people? You turn the screen on and click on Apps on both.

      • Anonymous

Looking forward to getting the iPhone, I’ve wanted one for a long time.

iOS or android, it is a personal choice. At home I have 2 Iphones, one my wife is using and one being idle. Have a nexus one being idle and a g2x im using. My wife loves her 3gs over the nexus one and I love my g2x android over any iOS. My wife got her reasons and I got mine….Android and iOS will co-exist because everyone of us is unique.

  • http://www.okaygeek.com/darryl maxrobes2000

I see this as being good. If anyone is going to be cannibalized, I’m looking at either WP7 or RIM. Moreso RIM before WP7.

  • Mannyjr80

First!!! AT&T is all I have to worry about.

    • Anonymous

      First to fail, yes.

  • Zachoff

Thank you Zachoff for more rumors. What no pictures of camera parts today? I’m sure you will find more Apple rumors to post later. You never let us down!

I for one am sick of the iphone.

    • Jman2u

Then you’d better go jump off a cliff because it’s not going away.

Why bother bringing it to a company that closing up shop?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=504970952 Matt Holland

Agreed. T-Mo will be AT&T soon enough and all of this wont matter (not like it really matters now anyway).

    • Drybones5

T-Mobile will be here for a while, the life time of the iPhone 5 is possible.

Takes a while to swallow up huge companies

    • Anonymous

Disagree. They are not closing up shop smart guy, they are merging, big difference. Plus, it doesn’t mean everyone will be switching to AT&T devices on day one of the merger. People will be using AWS for at least 5-7 years after the merger.

iPhone on T-Mobile 3G is a long time coming! Hurry Apple!

  • Anonymous

Pretty possible, T Mobile could offer the iPhone4 today if they really want. Tmobile will be AT&T in no time remember?

  • MeandYou

BGR forgot to post another rumor that it’s coming to Cricket as well……….

    • Anonymous

Cricket uses Sprint’s network? Maybe there will be some way to flash it eventually…

      • IPwn

Actually If you jailbreak a Verizon iPhone you can flash it to work on cricket.

  • Anonymous

Is this really still a rumor? I mean seriously, i havent seen such obvious shit called a rumor since, well they said the iphone will come to sprint. Its so obvious…..give me one good reason why tmo or sprant would not pull in an iPhone when they get the chance……..fuckin obvious rumors are obvious….end flame/rant…

but on another note, with apple cornering the patent game android should indeed be a bit concerned. a mid range iphone 4 and iPhone 5 on all avalible carriers? if that mid range iph4 is priced right android does indeed need to watch out. because using an iPhone is cool…..owning an android is well just having a smartphone

    • Anonymous

using an iphone is cool? wow you’re a tool. no phone will ever make you cool.

      • Jdef

I dont know… Look at his profile picture. Take the phone away and it’s just a normal white guy, but with the phone…

      • Anonymous

Not suprising you dont know….his name is Anssi Vanjoki, he once said ” using Android is like peeing in your pants for warmth” and this is actually very relevant to my point….

        >take the phone away just normal white guy
        >just normal white guy but with the phone
        >just normal white guy
        >but with the phone

….fuckin white people….smh worse then campers

For the record Im an android user and i love it- But what your missing is the stigma that surrounds Apple products in general. Call me what you will, but ever little boy and girl wants an Apple products becuase the rest of the world has one = cool, most of these little boys and girls get low end androids because mommy and daddy dont think they need a high priced super phone like the iphone. Make a mid range iphone that fits into that sector and Android will have some beef in that market (which they currently dominate). All the nerds and geeks out there did not make apples ios products trending because of tech specs the shit is easy to use and fucking COOL. Take a survey of non nerds that dont follow bgr, engadget etc and ask if they know what – say a droid charge is, then ask the same people what an iphone, ipad or ipod are….get my drift….there products carry a stigma, a fucking trend – throw all the other bullshit that your candy ass is concernerd about when buying a phone out the window and iphones will win out every time……the difference is android users have just another phone, that anyone in the world can have no matter a budget etc – iPhone users have – iPhones….

      • Anonymous

Have you ever been in an Apple Store?  Do you think that the idiots that hang out there or the douchelords that work there are cool? Apple Stores are a petri dish of losers that post up there to feel “cool”. I would love to take a flame thrower to one of those places.

People are cool when they start to think for themselves, and not follow the “trend”.

      • Anonymous

People do think for themselves, the trend is just another option dude….this one just so happen to come from apple -

couldnt reply in line – also

        Why you mad though

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_HK7ALWU4PMZC7SUZ4NZLXDT6R4 Chad

I’m an Android user and I actually switched from iPhone over to Android years ago just because I like it better, but BambooJackson makes a huge point and definitely is correct. The iProducts are household names. fanboyism reigns supreme in the tech blogs but the point when we walk away from our keyboards and monitors and enter back into the “real world” there’s no denying the iPhone reigns supreme (popularity wise) over casual users..and since casual users run the market…yea I think you see what I’m saying.

This will be Hell Freezes Over when this happens.

  • FtKnoxTMO

T-Mobile may have the fastest iPhone 5 out there, depending on which HSPA+ modem crapple put’s in the phone.  AT&T talking about 2018 before LTE network built, VZ’s LTE network crashes every other day.  Might be smart to be the last kid (and fastest) on the block.

  • http://twitter.com/dicksanasie Richard

This rumor bodes very well for the 3 or 4 canadian AWS carriers.

  • Guest

Android was created because the iPhone was only on AT&T. Android started as a cheaper alternative because the demand was there. Apple, with their exclusivity contract, indirectly gave us Android. A marketing ploy that backfired on them. iOS is still the best executed, but android gives us more options.
