Is this AT&T's first 4G LTE handset, the Samsung Impulse 4G?

Exclusive

We have received photos from a trusted source that show what could be AT&T’s first LTE smartphone, the Samsung Impulse 4G. We don’t have too many details to go on beyond the photo you see above along with an image of a case accessory that maps out the back of the device, but the Impulse 4G does look awfully like the Samsung DROID Charge, and this might be AT&T’s equivalent. Again, no firm release date on this one, but we definitely like where this is going. Full-sized images are in the gallery linked below.

i got an iPad 2 (32GB) for $ 23.87 and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $ 38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $ 657 which only cost me $ 62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, http://to.ly/b04f

The phone is great but LTE ? with at&t ? really? where ?

Sprint had no problems selling Wimax devices in non signal areas so I would expect nothing less from AT&T.

They have a couple of markets live currently (one I’m in) so it’s better to plan ahead as LTE will be in a lot of places next year if you have an upgrade coming. As always with wireless (regardless of carrier), buyer beware and educate yourself on your purchase prior to signing a contract.

the question is when… at&t’s 4g network will blow verizon’s out of the water considering it doesnt have lte in 85% of the country now

Still waiting on 3G in my area….

If you don’t have At&t 3G in your area…. you don’t even need a cell phone or you need to move…. whether it works properly or not Att has the most 3G covereage

      • Goldciv

You’re kidding… Did you just say that ATT has the most 3G coverage?

He has clearly never used a Verizon phone. The only time my connection has dropped below 3g on my phone is when I am in the basement of the building I work in. I still have data, its just 1x. You can’t even be in a house and get good service on AT&T.

huh? less than 40 miles from NYC there still isn’t 3G but those millions of people should move?….and as for the most 3G, well, do a little research before I laugh too hard..

lol the point is if you don’t have 3G coverage where you are nobody cares…. get another carrier

a lot of effort with the picture and screen name, but no focus placed on your facts unfortunately, at&t is a sensationalist company, not much to tout, but they market the hell out of what they have. Takes advantage of the ignorant… oh well

    • Fkseeney

then you live in BFE my friend

Perhaps AT&T cause build an LTE network first…

Rather have a 4G handset and wait on the 4G then to get a 3G handset, have 4G come out and not be able to use it till i get a new phone

Actually do a bit more research found that this looks like the Huawei Ideos X5 and not a Samsung device

So how many of these phones will att be ordering in anticipation of the huge rush of orders coming when they launch their lte network in 5 whooping markets?  The only sound of stampeding feet are those customers leaving att for Verizon.

Please retract this article and apologize.

That is one ugly case… Is that the AT&T variant of the S2?

  • Siejamie

Left picture looks like Huawei U8800.

  • CMC

AT&T doesn’t really have “4g”.  Even in markets where its claimed…speeds are the same has hsdpa.  LTE will be nice when it gets there, but with consumption-based billing and just “a little” given to people…really…does it make any difference how quickly you reach the finish line?

  • Jet Gladstone

Whatever it is, that jaunt is hella ugly.
