AT&T VP: iPhone 5 coming in early October, prepare to get 'really, really busy'

One of our high-level AT&T sources just informed us that an AT&T Vice President has confirmed to several employees that the iPhone 5 is slated to launch in early October. Additionally, the VP communicated the following to a group of managers: “Expect things to get really, really busy in the next 35-50 days, so prepare your teams accordingly.” Apple is widely expected to announce the iPhone 5 in a late September event with a release set for early October.

    Why would att want to issue a memo targeted at Verizon employees who are already prepared and expected a large chunk of iphone users fleeing the leaking row boat known as att im-mobility?

    will iphone 5 be released in other countries at the same time?  Why is there so much excitement?  Do current iPhone 4 users plan to immediately buy an iPhone 5 even if they’re still under contract?  Will people on the sideline (like me whose Tmob contract has expired and is just waiting to decide what is the best option) going to run to ATT or Apple on day 1?  I guess Im not an early adopter so I don’t get the psychology of it all… but al these dates seem right. A n apple store manager told me they’re hiring more people and that sept/oct is going to be hell…he also said the reason the instore support for Mac laptops is so poor is that most of their business now is coming from iOS and most of the employees they hire are to support that…and at times, those employees are covering for Mac techs and thus the poor service as Mac laptops will probably not even exist 10 years from now…I don’t know what i just hit on my keyboard to make this go italics but I wish I did

      I think I’ll be selling my shiny 32 gig over on ebay, I should make about $450, which’ll cover the enhanced premium they’ll place on top for in contract iPhone 5.

    Do you want to know why AT&T can screw their customers and still post record profits? The answer is in the photo. Take look at the people lined up outside the store waiting for their opportunity to drop a few hundred bucks and sell their souls to AT&T.

    I’m guessing of course.  But, it looks like the phone release in early October will be an improved iPhone 4.  Some time in 2012, like maybe May or June, the iPhone 5 will come out.

    That’s my guess.  Based entirely on the rumors I have read.

    I dont really care when and if the iphone 5 comes.  Tired of hearing about iphone this and iphone that. When apple gets smart and decides to allow its products to be available to all carriers, then the iphone gets my vote. I liked the the idea of the iphone when it was first revealed but once they had this “exclusive” deal with AT&T, a company I despise, then all bets were off.  Screw Apple!

    Well, rumors never stop when the iPhone 4 realeased, we can’t just have one blog/page with all the iphone info, there are 123456 pages/blog are reported! What’s credible? I think we don’t know any exact details, untils the iPhone 5 released. So I just waiting and enjoyed with my iPhone 4 now, though with the famous “death grip”, the iPhone 4 is still a cool handset, Im enjoyed to watch videos with ifunia’s converting on flight, playing games, checking email…

    I just paìd $22.85 for an ìPad 2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her her Panasonìc Lumìx GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.78 there arriving tomorrow by UPS.     Whether you know it or not, you guys are hilarious! Just reread some of the posts, they are funny! Doesn’t mean much to us but for Apple and Android popular phones slated to come out “soon,” they are making so much more money hyping the product. I just hope the battery on any of these devices is worth it’s salt.
