'Anonymous' hacker quits, calls group's members hypocrites and its efforts fruitless

Security

An alleged member of the notorious hacker collective “Anonymous” has apparently outed himself and quit. The UK-based hacker, who says his real name is Matthew, operated under the pseudonym “SparkyBlaze” during his time with Anonymous. As to his reasons for leaving the group, he points mainly to LulzSec, the AntiSec movement, and Anonymous’ leadership. “When I started with Anon I thought I was helping people but over the past few months things inside anon have changed,” the hacker said in a statement posted to the Web. “I am mostly talking about AntiSec and LulzSec. They both go against what I stand for (and what anonymous says they stand for). Antisec has released gig after gig of innocent peoples information. For what? What did they do? Does anon have the right to remove the anonymity of innocent people? They are always talking about peoples right to remain anonymous so why are they removing that right?” To the Anonymous members he leaves behind, SparyBlaze adds, “You are not helping anyone.” He continues, “Think about the long run. Some thinking now can save you some large legal bills later. And yes i will be there when you get out of court to say: I told you so. There are other ways to help people, just don’t go to anon you are not hurting the governments you are hurting yourselves in the long run.” The hacker’s full statement follows below.

Ok,
So Over The Past Few Days I Have Been At A Cross road With Anonymous. Why? Because I Started To Think.
So When I Started With Anon I Thought I Was Helping People But Over The Past Few Months Things Inside Anon Have Changed. I Am Mostly Talking About AntiSec And LulzSec. They Both Go Against What I Stand For (And What Anonymous Says They Stand For). AntiSec Has Released Gig After Gig Of Innocent Peoples Information. For What? What Did They Do? Does Anon Have The Right To Remove The Anonymity Of Innocent People? They Are Always Talking About Peoples Right To Remain Anonymous So Why Are They Removing That Right?

Now I Could Talk for Hours On Why I Have Came To This Choice But I Don’t Think Anyone Would Or  Read It Or Care. So I Will Just Say Some Key Points:
They Are Removing Peoples Right To Anonymity, A Right Which They Claim To Protect And Uphold.
Sending Some Packets To A Server And Putting Info On-line Is Not Helping Or Solving Anything
Anonymous DOES Have A Leader Ship And They Don’t Give 2 Fucks About Us. Think, When Anons Were Arrested For DDoSing Paypal A While Back Was There A Mass Free Anon Operation?. Did They Put-Out Press Releases And Start Donations For Them?. No They Did One TV Interview And Fed Them To The Lions But When TopIary Was Arrested They Started #FreeTopIary We All Know He Is A “Higher Up” In Anon And They Started A Op For Him. You Think Those Donations Are Going To Topiary? Why Start A Op For Him? Well I Think It Is Because Of 2 Things:
- Press (Anon Is The Biggest Fucking Media Whore I Have Ever Seen)
- TopIary Is A Anon Who They Give A Fuck About
Now You May Think I Am Mad But All The Proof Is There. I Am Not Saying People In Anon Are All Fags, Some Thing They Are Helping. But They Have Been Tricked Into Thinking It. Truth Is Anonymous Hasn’t Brought Down Governments. The People Have. If You Was A Dictator you Wouldn’t Give a Fuck About People Taking Down Your Site. You Would Give A Fuck About The People Rioting And Wanting You Dead.
Anonymous Has Prayed On Peoples Willingness To Help Others. And Most Of Them Are Kids Who Don’t Understand What They Are Doing Can Fuck Up There Lives And The IRC Wont Help Them.
I Could Put More But I Don’t See The Point.

A Message To The Governments:
If You Hate Anon, Don’t Arrest The Kids. Arrest The Leaders. Without Them Everything Will Fall To Shit. All The Recruitment Will Stop And Then The People Will Start To Think And Understand That Anon Is Not Helping Anyone.
A Message To The Leaders Of Anon:
Fuck You Can’t Wait Till You All Get Arrested :D
And If One Anon Sees The Truth Every Week Then Your Time Is Running Out
A Message To The Anon’s:
Quit While You Still Can, You Are Not Helping Anyone And You Need To Think About The Long Run. Some Thinking Now Can Save You Some Large Legal Bills Later. And Yes I Will Be There When You Get  Out Of Court To Say: I Told You So. There Are Other Ways To Help People, Just Don’t Go To Anon You Are Not Hurting The Governments You Are Hurting Yourselves In The Long Run. And No I Am Not Saying I Agree With What The Governments Are Doing But I Also Do Not Agree With Anon.
You Cant Arrest A Idea But You Can Throw A Kid In Jail And Fuck Up Their Life.
Don’t Do The Crime If You Can’t Do The Time.

Ps:
I Am Not Saying Everything Anon Has Done Is Pointless Things Like Getting Internet To People When Governments Cut It Off I Support. I Am Just Saying Most Of It Isn’t Helping Anyone And Is Just Getting Kids Arrested.

I Would Like to Thank People Like:@th3j35t3r@sambowne@AnonTangoDown@providesecurityAnd Everyone Else Who Has Been Spreading The Truth About Anon. Thanks
SparkyBlaze

For Proof That I Am Not Trolling:
My Name Is Matthew And I Live In The UK, Manchester And No I Wont Post My Address And Phone Numbers Because I Know I Will Have Pizzas And Prank Calls To My House (That In It’s Self Is More Proof That You Are All Kids). If You Want To Know More Then By All Means Dox Me. Remove My Right To Remain Anonymous.

why do we have a reason to believe he is actually part of anon and lulzsec? isn’t it possible he’s just an actor trying to make some bad press for the organizations?

    • http://www.releasedates.co www.releasedates.co

furthermore… wouldn’t he be admitting to some pretty big crimes? why isn’t be being arrested and charged? I’m not saying he should be, but it seems rather suspicious that he’s so willing to out himself despite facing potential assassination or prison. weird.

He claims to be part of something that once mattered to him. Anon originally did good, but lately they are just trying to embarrass companies by giving out all of their employees personal information. Anon should be releasing information that can bury a company or even bring to light things that are being done that are shady. Anon is now just a way to get peoples addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, usernames and passwords. Sadly Anon is slipping.

      • Anonymous

So Anon is like the US Patent office :P

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_5JY245KHP4Q5HRS4544JIHYJLQ Jim

yup you think anyone who’s information was hacked and released would be supporting Anon now?

      • Anonymous

Anonymous doesn’t have the ABILITY to get real information.  They re not hackers.

      • Anonymous

No..simply saying he as part of a group would not be enough to arrest him.  Besides, the children of Anonymous are getting arrested in their mommy’s basements left and right.  So what is the difference?

And assassination? what a joke. How are they going to assassinate him when they haven’t left that same basement in years?

    • Sparkyblaze

I laugh at that, Anon gets bad press as it is without me chipping in.Now when you say “wouldn’t he be admitting to some pretty big crimes?” you are forgetting that anon is a “open group” and not everyone is involved in everything they do.And assassination? LOL You have been watching to many movies. And I think a actor would have a better statement than mine. Just look at the grammar ffs.

What’s up with capitalizing each word…

        Edit: never mind

    • Anonymous

Why should we believe anon is actually a group of citizens, when it could very well be government forces at work to manufacture consent for dictatorial policies?

  • Anonymous

Very interesting to read. Although my eyes have now crossed because SparkyBlaze decided to capitalize every single word in his statement.

  • Josh

What’s the deal with capitalizing Ever Single Word?

    • Josh

      Every*

    • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

It was probably a filter of what he was originally writing. Most people will put a filter on things so people aren’t always typing in caps, my guess is that this was originally in all caps.

      • Sparkyblaze

You hit the nail right on the head there.

      • Anonymous

So why did you do it all in caps?

Oh yeah…because like the rest of the group, you are 12 years old.

  • John

Calls it quits b/c he’s about to get caught. Chicken shit.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_5JY245KHP4Q5HRS4544JIHYJLQ Jim

Too bad your info wasn’t hacked into and released.

      • John

I’m not fucking idiot. I do not store any personal info online. Common sense 101 Timmy

      • https://sites.google.com/site/barry99705/ barry99705

You’d be amazed at what crap other people store on the internet about you.

      • John

Ya, I wouldn’t be surprised, but I use as much fake info as possibl

    • Sparkyblaze

Err if I was about to get caught wouldn’t publicly admitting to being part of anon be the last thing I would do?

      • John

yes but kids do dumb shit these days

      • alexander westover

lol :) it’s amazing what people do these days. i personally find it hard to believe that he had the urge to blog when he’s got people “hunting” for me. i’d be all Jason Bourne if i knew what was going on in advance.

  • No

no one gives a dam. Anons are just kids trying to get their big break in life. fayul

    • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

That’s a moronic statement. The original AnonSec operation was to show how unsecure the internet is and how unsafe peoples data is in the hands of corporations. They have been extremely successful, but the only way people will believe that you have all of the info on *random comapny*’s server is to show the world that you have that information. Its a catch 22 and sadly, security of your information on servers isn’t very safe.

DEAR COMPANIES, STRESS TEST YOUR SERVERS FOR VULNERABILITIES AND RUN A FIREWALL!

      • Anonymous

And they failed badly.  They did NOTHING to hurt anyone.  Their biggest “success” was taking a toilet paper website offline for 2 minutes.

  • Ooodeltas

When the Black becomes the prime minister of England, and all to it goes…. Then the Internet will disappear. And hackers too.

  • http://twitter.com/avonhungen avonhungen

I call BS.  The list of people he thanks for “spreading the Truth” about Anon is … dispositive.

    • Sparkyblaze

*Looks at list* *Looks at comment* *Looks at list* *Looks at comment* Ok how the fuck did you come to that conclusion?

  • Anonymous

    f… anonymous

  • Sparkyblaze

I have been trying not to comment but I just have to. Now to the people saying it is fake, You do not know me or anon and if you did you would know I have spent quite a lot of time with anon and that i haven’t just made this up. Looking back I could have wrote a much better statement but that is in the past now. So why would I admit to being part of anon? Well it is because I didn’t think it would get this “big” so to speak. This was a message to my twitter followers as they were asking why I had quit. I didn’t think it would end up on media sites and have as much attention as it has had. I was not trying to get this to the media nor was I looking for attention. This was just about telling my followers how I felt about anon and why I was quitting. I thank the people I do because they were the ones telling me that all anon was doing was putting peoples info on-line and not helping anyone. Looking back I should have just explained individual to people what I felt instead of this buy what’s done is done.

    • Sparkyblaze

Looking back I should have just explained individual to people what I felt instead of this buy what’s done is done. That should say but not buy.

      • Anonymous

I know what it’s like to write something that’s honest and have people doubt you and accuse you of lying for no reason at all other than a mere “feeling” that it’s fake. It’s very frustrating. I believe you are being honest.

  • Oscargraciafigueroa

So you use the word fag as insult? Go to fuckoff.

    • Onlydp

      U must be a fag too…

    • Anonymous

Is that seriously your biggest concern in all of this?

  • Anonymous

OK wow thats kinda messed up when you think about it dude.

    http://www.total-anon.at.tc

  • Anonymous

BS or not, he still makes some good points.

Anon has most people’s support when they hack into governments and uncover corruption, and in general target repressive regimes. It can be even regarded as commendable.

However, once they continue down the path of attacking private individuals, publishing their sensitive information and target small businesses, they’re not an ounce better than who they pretend they’re fighting.

    • Anonymous

you are WAYYYYYY out of touch with reality if you think that “most people” were EVER on Anonymous’ side.

  • Anonymous

i bet he will never be able to use the internet again, or else he will be hacked into oblivion.

Anon’s revenge: hack the sex offender registry. Put him on it.

    • Anonymous

By whom?  Certainly not the DDoS kiddies of Anonymous.  They haven’t actually hacked a fucking thing ever.

  • SomeOne

Sparkyblaze did the right thing in separating himself from a group of individuals, who, although they may believe their ideology is correct, their methods are totally evil. That brings to mind the case of Ted Kaczynski (a.k.a. the Unabomber). He also thought his motives were good, while his methods were destructive and evil. Anon’s members are not directly killing or maiming human beings, like Kaczynski did, but by disseminating private information about individuals whose work is to target and apprehend suspects of braking the law, put them in a very vulnerable position when those who were apprehended have now so much personal information about them, so they can retaliate and harm them. When a group of individuals, whatever name they use, get involved in such behaviour, are in a way, emulating Kaczynski, and that is nothing to be proud of.

  • Anonymous

The reality is, he left because Anonymous has never actually hurt a single company they attacked.  Sure, they may take down their website for 2 minutes…but that is all these 12 year olds can do.  That are DDoS attackers, not hackers.

And he left because members re getting arrested in droves..another clue that these kids have no idea what they are doing.

  • C B

It’s not that easy, son. Blood in, blood out! LOL

  • alexander westover

for being part of the anonymous “terrorist” group (that’s my opinion) his grammar has a lot to desired. i don’t really buy this.

  • alexander westover

oh, and further more, he needs to learn to keep his point shorter so i don’t practically enter comatose just so i can get to the end of the post. We get it, anon is terrible and shouldn’t even be in existance.

  • http://my2cents4theday.blogspot.com Don Williams

I can only hope more members start to ‘think’ and come to the same conclusion as Matthew. If hurting innocent individuals in order to hurt big governments is the name of the game, then it’s a lame game indeed!

  • https://sites.google.com/site/barry99705/ barry99705

Why can’t Anonymous do some real good, like taking down the spammers that keep popping up in tech blogs?

  • Earleepa

All hackers should be arrested and put away for the rest of their lives.

  • Anonymous

Hacking and sharing personal information is not a crime, even if it’s the Pentagon, White House, or people’s bank information, for this simple reason: nobody is entitled to privacy on the internet. Unless you disagree with that second statement, you DO AGREE with the first.

  • Anonymous

You mean to say people who have nothing better to do than to copy the movie industry knock offs and abuse their abilities to create havoc and chaos all over actually are morally corrupt?… surprise surprise.
