Rage and Rage HD for iOS free this week

Gaming

As a thank you to its fans for helping it achieve 1,000 “Likes” on Facebook, id Software is offering its iOS game “Rage” for free this week. Rage made its debut in November 2010 and puts you in the shoes of a “Mutant Bash TV!” game-show contestant. Your job is to make it through the levels killing mutants to make a deal with the show’s host, J.K. Stiles before dying. We played the first-person rail shooter back when it launched and enjoyed the high-resolution graphics on the iPad, and it’s definitely worth the download. And we’re not the only fans: the game has a 4 star review average after 2,987 ratings. Read on for a link to the iTunes download page.

    Free is for me.

      It’s not available for Android.

People really buy Android for games? The games on Android are pathetic overall. There is one thing I can say about Android … switching to it has really curbed my mobile game playing. I don’t play mobile games anymore because they all suck. Now, when I had my iPhone, I played constantly.

It’s good to hear you matured.  Beyond video games there’s sex drugs and drugs, be prepared.

Wow. The mass of android idiots on here blows me away far more than the apple sheep.I am a 26 years old nurse, young and beautiful. Now I am seeking an older gentle man who can give me real love , so i got a username Annababe2011 on—a’ge’l'es’s'da’te. Androidddddddddddd already….. i hate the iPhone 4!

    • Lechero

why? why? be more constructive with your feedback.

I thought my opinion has been stated by enough ppl before me already. I do like iOS, but every iPhone’s hardware sux compared to even a 6 month phone that I’m using: Nexus S. that’s still an amazing piece of plastic (no sarcasm!).

      • Anonymous

How does the iPhone 4′s hardware suck compared to the Nexus S? iP4 is 6 months older than NS, btw. I have a Nexus S and beyond the larger screen, I don’t see one dominating the other hardware wise.

Realllllllly bright thought process there chief. The iPhone 4 is older than the Nexus S by 6 months and  still has a better screen resolution. Think before running off at the mouth like a dumbass.

      • Anonymous

screen resolution isn’t the deciding factor on ultimate greatness. i’ve held iPhone 4′s and Nexus S’s side by side multiple times, and i say the Super AMOLED screens r much better, ESPECIALLY in direct sunlight.

but yes, most of the other specs r due to it being 6 months further in development. and this is more of a preference: the iPhone 4 is a BRICK! the Nexus S is still one of the lightest phones. i’ve dropped it way too many times, and it’s more than fine…..i could go on and on about why the Nexus S will most stand the test of time. ppl r just too hooked on Apple, like a drug.

the Nexus S isn’t the best phone at all anymore. i feel it’s more like a Super Mario than maybe all currently, excluding the lovely Galaxy S II……..rant over…….

I wondered when the begging would start. Be happy though. While iOS users are enjoying the best apps and games, no malware and a stable and prettier OS with no lag, you can take comfort in Android having the largest market share.

      • Anonymous

After having a Droid 1, a Droid X and now getting an iPhone 4 when it came to verizon, trust me ios is not lag free by any means. Scroll down the settings menu and what do you know it’s doing like  0.5fps.

ios is not bad, but this idea that its perfect in everyway and faultless is complete bs, I’ve had both, and like both, but really?

Why do I have to login to my app store account to do ANYTHING? Even to update apps…

Why doesn’t my backlight turn itself down?

OH and notifications… Its been 4 years now and yeah….

The ipad 2 though, I have to admit it is pretty damn fast.

      • Anonymous

I wouldn’t say iOS is flawless (to me WebOS is the best OS) but I’ve never experienced any lag on the iPhone 4. I did on the my 3G though. The reason you have to give your password in the App Store every few minutes is because parents complained about children buying a ton of in-app purchases. I don’t know what you mean about the backlight.

      • Jarred Mohring

There is an auto-brightness slider in the brightness area of the settings FYI, works great.

You have to login so this way random people can’t download whatever apps they want on your dime if they get a hold of your phone.

        “Prettier”?
That and 50¢ will get you a cup of coffee.

      • Jarred Mohring

        Ha! So true!

When I had an Atrix I missed all the high res games and smooth running apps.

And devs like money, until Android users start spending some, iOS will always be 1st or the only OS to get what the masses crave.

  • sirpaul

Awesome, thanks! Just finished mastering everything in Infinity Blade, getting top 100 in most Cut the Rope levels, and top 1% in Angry Birds…need something new.

And yes I do ‘have a life’. But I spend 2 hours a day on the bus going to and fro my home and school.

    • Anonymous

a life can be video games..most ppl have to slave at shitty job all day. otherwise, most would do more than that.

      • sirpaul

I was raised playing around 2 hours a week, so the 30-60 minutes daily is very nice at the moment. I get bored if I play more than 2 hours a day and get headaches. And in the end I don’t accomplish a whole lot.

Hopefully my job won’t end up being a ‘shitty job’, though. I think a job where I feel accomplished will feel better than any video game!

none of the good games are. nobody buys Android for games.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_KIAXCBASZ5YY5YCAVF6HAJ3UTQ Kevin

Wow. The mass of android idiots on here blows me away far more than the apple sheep. At least they usually work and can try to give valid arguments. This is the second dumbass person on here with one of the most compelling arguments to buy games for android. GET A JOB.

      • Bringit

Should not really be amazed.  If you make the decision in the first place to purchase (or more likely get for free) an Android phone – you have shown your level of intelligence.

        You are an iDiot, moron.

I just paíd $22.85 for an íPad 2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her her Canon EOS Rebel Camera that we got for $38.78 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $625 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, CentHûb.côm

Cool, something free is always good and a great way to get new fans……

As for Rage HD, its a real fun game to play when passing time.  But I had to pay for it :(   Wish I had waited.

WHAT? They have HD for this game? I know this one! For me it was like a new left 4 dead, but hopefully this game has a good ending.
