HTC Ruby detailed, big brother to HTC Sensation

Exclusive

One of our sources was able to get some hands-on time with the HTC Ruby, a device that is said to be the “big brother to the HTC Sensation.” It’s going to feature a 4.3-inch display and a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, and our source says that any talk of the device being an entry-level phone is out of bounds; this is a flagship smartphone, and one that is not part of the myTouch family. T-Mobile reportedly hasn’t settled on a name for the device, though we can exclusively report that is going to be the first smartphone to run on T-Mobile’s incredibly fast 42Mbps HSPA+ network. The current launch is set for early Q4, so we’re still a couple months out unfortunately.

BGR – Why you no put up pics?!

I second that..we need better pics than what we have seen so far. They should just call it Sensation 4G, Sensation HD or just HTC Ruby. The Ruby is pratically an HTC Sensation with bumped up specs..it has the same shape and it seems same back cover mechanism. We haven’t seen any info on how much internal storage and battery strength..(two very crucial specs)

the Sensation is already called the “Sensation 4G”.

also I’m so jealous of T-Mobile. I had a sensation for a bit, but it didn’t make sense to pay for a t-mobile account on top of the at&t family account I’m already paying for. Now T-Mobile gets an even better phone, and here i am stuck in the dark ages with an HTC Inspire :(

Rumor has it that the Ruby will have a 1280 x 720 display. It’d be nice to wipe the smirks off the faces of iPhone “retina” display crowd.

    First!

Let’s hope it’s the nexus 3, with stock android.

The next Nexus is definitely a Samsung device.

      • KenG

Samsung to the last one, and supposedly Google wants to rotate them among mfrs. LG isn’t quite there yet (I have their G2x, it’s not Nexus quality), and Sony-Ericcson is just too slow to come out with the leading edge android platform. So it’s Motorola, which would generate fears of favoritism, or HTC. I’m going with HTC.

I think it has Sense, there was a picture showing a part of the camera software, also it is t-mobile branded. not like the other nexus.

Doesnt really sound like a good purchase in Q4 unless Tmo and ATT announce this thing will work on both networks for 4g…just my humble opinion

This lines up with rumors I”ve been seeing that point to multiple phones with similar specs launching in early October all sporting Ice Cream Sandwich, 720p screens, and 1.5Ghz dual-core processors.  The HTC Ruby, HTC Vigor, and the Nexus Prime all seem quite similar.  With the Ruby going to T-Mobile, the Vigor going to Verizon, and Nexus Prime going to Sprint or AT&T, Google has most of their bases covered to make sure that Ice Cream Sandwich is a success.

Hopefully thats the case. Then a ICS port to the Sensation shouldnt be too far behind!

Does Eliza Dushku come with the phone??

Is it expected to have universal 3/”4″ G for use on both T-mo and AT&T high speed networks?

I think this phone deserves the name of Kingdom like that of the sprint, because they’re going to call it the hero 4g.  good name, HTC Kingdom for a top specd phone.

how is this exclusive ???? Tmonews posted this up way before you guys

BGR detailed the specs and put the rumor aside that this was mid range device. The Ruby image was first posted at Pocketnow I think.

I think I will see the pics, but it is not

I just paíd $22.85 for an íPad 2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her her Canon EOS Rebel Camera that we got for $38.78 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $625 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, CentHúb.çom
