HTC Vigor could be first Beats by Dre phone

mobile

On Wednesday, HTC announced that it had invested $300 million in Beats by Dre, which will see its audio tech integrated into HTC phones moving forward. Now, rumor has it that HTC’s first smartphone to include Beats technology could be the Vigor, a device that is said to resemble the HTC Thunderbolt on Verizon. It could pack a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of storage, 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel forward-facing camera for video chats and a 4.3-inch display with a 1280 x 720-pixel resolution according to rumors, but nothing is confirmed for the time being. The Vigor will also supposedly run Android 2.3.4 with version 3.5 of HTC’s Sense user interface. It is still unclear when the Vigor will see the light of day, but its spec sheet definitely has us excited.

    Hell yes!

    Poor iPhone bastards

Apple doesnt have to pay Dr.Dre to have amazing audio quality, actually the iPhone has a top-notch audio quality… get your facts right

      • Nitin Varughese

Lol no it doesn’t. Try and compare an ipod or iphone’s audio quality to a zune or an mp3 player by Creative. It’s not even close. Not to say HTC’s audio quality is any better than the iphone’s, but let’s see how much Beats can help

      • Mac

Wow, I don’t think being money raped by a black rapper to use his name on a phone makes sense.  Is the default ringtone, I am a thug, suck my dick, nigga bitch or I gonna pop you in the head?

      • http://twitter.com/mistercarter7 Mike Gonzalez

dont compare iPod nano to iPhone 4… check some reviews first and then talk, cuz you look so dumb right now…

      • delusion ftl

No, no they dont.  They never have.  That would require a change in apples items of importance scale. As soon as a trendy product also has good audio quality, they may succeed with that.

Its ok if you like how they look, like being trendy, like the apple ecosystem but if you think you also got the “best” product.  Then you move into the delusional.

    • IPwn

Haha ignorant android users. You do realize beats by dre headphones were made to work with iPhones, iPods and iPad by using the “sound check” feature for the best possible sound. Get a clue.

The “Beats by Dre” audio will only do you any good if you have beats headphones OR headphones of the same caliber.

      • Crapple

        Really!

      • vh

LOL, “of the same caliber”. That’s not hard to achieve.

I bet you like Bose, too.

      • MikeB

Let me get this straight, Dr. Dre was at his beachhouse discussing with his agent that we need to make headphones for the iPhone. Ignorance. Dre created beats because sound quality from current headphones weren’t up to par with what he was using in the studio. Dre’s people wanted him to do a sneaker line but he said let’s do speakers. Rest is a success.
“made for the iPhone..” very arrogant and ignorant statement.

Jimmy Iovine???  Is dat you?  You fool.  Stop the marketing hijinx.  These are smart BGR readers, they all know Beats by Dre is all marketing hype.  You shoulda hooked up with Apple…that woulda been some super duper crazy marketing synergy.  Two ultimate marketing factories…together like Voltron…holy batman that woulda been awesome.  Oh well…HTC…they a’ight.

        its all marketing…

id choose sennheiser, audio technica, grado, etc over bose/beats anyday…

are we going to have to see this stupid pic 6 times a day now… every time htc thinks about something or something is rumored?

Too bad sense will use 3/4 of that ram.

Who cares the dre headphones sound like shit anyway. I’ll take my bose over these headphones any day.

    • Drew

Wow, you’re a bigger choad than I thought you were… If you knew anything about good audio sound quality you would know that Bose is overpriced garbage. But as your name suggests, you’re a label whore who’s just in it for the name and name only. You are Apple through and through…

      • Anonymous

Wrong troll. I’m a musician and know all I need to know about audio. I have Shure, Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser and Grado headphones which all work great for studio and playing out. But as far as listening to music Bose has the best sound and clarity out there. Not a label whore I know what best for me so GFY.

      • John

…Really?  Listening is a subjective experience, but I’ve honestly never met someone who liked Bose headphones more than Beyer or Grado.  I like the sound of Bose, but I haven’t heard someone defend them as audiophile.  Not here to tell you you’re wrong in your listening preference; just surprised.

Whats so special about Beats?  Bump up the Cost?

  • Scott

Would be excited but I have been burnt to many times by HTC and their inability to manufacture a smartphone with a decent antenna. Getting ready to return my Incredible II right now. No more HTC for me until reviewers rave about the dramatic reception advances.

    thinking beats are good headphones…

    is like thinking a chrysler 300 is a bentley…

  • RockingmyEvo3D

This is a great htc devices just on the wrong network in my book. Great specs this makes the Thunderbolt look ancient. Now as far as the EVO 3D and SENSATION 4G it’s not that much better. There is no difference in 1.2 or 1.5 Ghz processor 1more second at best opening apps?? Now sense 3.5 will be big that’s for sure sense 3.0 just came out and that’s great on the evo 3d. Great deal on the 16gb of internal storage great move by htc. Basically this device is a prelude to the upcoming EVO BRAND IN 2012 from a spec standpoint. HTC will always save the best for the EVO BRAND and SPRINT that’s like clock work. So yes this is a great device for Verizon but wait till Sprint’s addition arrives and it will make this look USELESS TRUST THAT.

    • Tomcatdad

Good lord knows Sprint needs a decent phone. Everything after that is sad at best.

I just paìd $22.85 for an ìPad 2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.78 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $625 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, CentHub.còm
