$700 HP TouchPad 4G now available for pre-order from Amazon

Tablets

The HP TouchPad 4G with HSPA+ support is now available for pre-order from Amazon. The online retailer doesn’t give a specific launch date and instead says “this item has not yet been released,” and that customers “may pre-order it now and [Amazon] will deliver it to you when it arrives.” The TouchPad made its debut on July 1st as a Wi-Fi only device with a 1.2GHz processor. In our review we said the device was “just good” and that its software needed a “shot of adrenaline.” However, AT&T’s upcoming version will sport a faster 1.5GHz processor, the aforementioned HSPA+ support and HP’s latest webOS 3.0.2 software. Amazon is currently listing the TouchPad 4G for $699.99, which means you’ll be paying a big premium for 4G, but that’s also probably before any AT&T’s subsidies.

    Finally…bring it HP!

Another product that will hit the bargain bin soon after launch.

There is no market for Tablets, just a market for iPads.

    It is what it is.

      I agree.  iPad ROCKS!!….nuff said!

I don’t know if it rocks or not, I just know that Apple is selling them by the millions per month.

These tablet making companies need to STOP copying Apple. These tablets will never be as good as an iPad.

The Motorola Xoom started at the same price and is now $499.  Wait a week…

    This is HP/Palm.

Isn’t this the same company that announced the Pre 3 would be available in “summer” like 6 months ago?

I’m sure if you pre-order now you’ll get it sometime in the next 2 years…

webOS is a FAILURE just like the Palm Pre is a FAILURE

    Why so expensive…

      DOA …

Sorry HP, but the correct MSRP should be $499.99 for the 3g tablet.  A $100.00 markup on wifi is acceptable, but you were just selling the 16gb model for $399.99….

At Staples this weekend you could actually get another $100 off that too with a coupon, but I agree the 3g price to steep.

I just paid $ 23.86 for an iPhone and my girlfriend loves her Dell laptop that we got for $ 38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 42 inch LED TV to my boss for $ 665 which only cost me $ 62,81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, GrabPenny.com

HP’s delusional with a price like that! Sometimes I think these companies are colluding with Apple & are purposely ruining their business’, one by one. They know they can’t match component pricing, R&D, shipping channel congestion, etc, yet they keep manufacturing these weak products. WebOS is going to get killed twice, just like Nortel.

Preorder now for $700 or wait a week after it’s release and get it for $200

LOL… no one will spend $700 for this crap. They should have priced it at $250 because that’s what it will cost in 2 months after its launch.

PS: Palm/HP early adopters are the biggest suckers on planet. Every time they buy a Palm product, Palm drops the price by few hundred bucks a week after. Just plain SUCKERS!

NOT FOR AN HP CRAP PAD

I really think that Amazon is launching its own version of the tablet of this Christmas day. However, they continue to support IPAD. Support will continue until no one buys the Hp touchpad in the future.
