$449 should have been the release price since the beginning.

It should have launched at $399 like the Asus Transformer to even stand a chance. The TF is now second only to the Ipad 2 (a distant second, obviously) in shipments, and probably sales, since there aren’t any major QC issues like there were with the Xoom. In this crowded marketplace, all the TouchPad has going for it is the 4:3 screen, which is ideal for portrait web surfing. And that’s not really that much of an advantage at all.

WebOS is beautiful but as soon as you pick up this tablet it feels cheap as fuck. The screen is kind of too far from the glass which is instantly noticeable and the whole device just feels cheap, I wouldn’t be surprise if this was design by the same dumb ass that did the Palm pre. It’s like these people aren’t even trying hard, I think they need a shake up. WebOS on a tablet like the Motorola Xoom or Galaxy tab would kill the competition but they ain’t trying. I think the Palm team and the team at Rim have a lot in common.

The dud must be wasting precious space in warehouses, hence the $50 drop in price.

“Began rolling out”…I fell to the floor giggling incoherently when I read that. With the number of end-customers HP has for this thing, a “roll out” should take about…oh…23 milliseconds.

If you have an old palm phone, you already got fifty off through some loyalty program. The extra $50 price drop makes it even better. Still not getting one though.

You are watching the beginnings of a tech giant gulping for oxygen, soon to be found near your $.99 store as a bygone relic doomed by the purchase of Palm.

As Apple’s CtO, Chief tAmpon Officer, I simply LOVE the display units at Best Buy; they do nothing with their preloaded demo-ware*

I admire HP’s perseverance in keeping WebOS alive. But at one point, they’ll have to finally wake up…

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad 2 (64 GB) and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $674 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, CentHub.com

HP completely dropped the ball with webOS. Two years ago this system destroyed Android. Now it doesn’t, thanks to lack of HP internal and third party developer interest. Such a waste. I am jumping ship to ios, we love our iPad and we get new phones at the end of September. Fingers crossed for Verizon iPhone 4S.

I really like the HP Touch pad , it has some work to do before it can be a serious contender.  But with the WebOs it has the best Operating Sys on the market.  It also has stereo speakers !
Not a bad device at all . The Hp has 300 Native apps for The touchpad.  Try it you might like it.
