T-Mobile BlackBerry Bold 9900 could launch on August 31st

mobile

RIM officially revealed the BlackBerry Bold 9900 earlier this year during its annual BlackBerry World tradeshow and now it appears carriers are finally preparing to launch the phone. PhoneArena has obtained a leaked internal T-Mobile screenshot that suggests the phone will become available on August 31st. It also mentions that there will be a $50 mail-in rebate but does not confirm the subsidized price of the Bold 9900. BlackBerry fans will appreciate the device’s thinner design, more powerful hardware, and revamped BlackBerry 7 operating system, but this device doesn’t stray far from those that came before it. We expect we’ll hear more of a confirmation on its official launch date in the coming weeks.

Yes. Looks good for conservative no nonsense corporate e-mail user.  Should sell well into that heartland.

This will be my first blackberry.
Sick and tired of carrying a charger for my Nexus One.

    • Anonymous

If your getting a BB because of having to carry a charger around all the time with your nexus one. Then all evo 4g, thunderbolt, droid x, galaxy s, atrix, inspire and captivate owers must have the same problem cause the battery in all them phones SUCK. Along with the shitty os that’s on them.

u been licking apples ass for too long n now u think everything tastes shitty.

Best of luck to you… You gonna need it if you switch to a BB… RIM is a sinking Titanic. With that said, now do you want to jump out of your smooth sail boat with all the hotties and get on the Titanic cause they got a coal burning steam engines? It is 2011… Come on now…

      • Applesucksfatties

Yeah..  3 billion in cash on the balance sheet and a slew of new phones coming out this year and the QNX superphones coming out next year..  only a dipshit would think they are sinking!!

Hey ding dong… it’s 2.39 billion and not 3 billion. Big difference.. Cash goes a long way, but not forever. You can eat up cash easily as your sales are plummeting and your slice on the pie chart goes from almost half moon to “I am on a diet” girls slice. The company has been downgraded across the board… Hack, you can value it anyway you want but the market decides on the price. Titanic was unsinkable, Bear Stearns was in good financial health, too.

I am an ex-BB dude that used it for 7 years. Slew of new phones with marginal specs that could only catch up with whats been out there for 1 year. QNX, will most likely be delayed, delayed again and guess what delayed again. But you hang in there… Wait it out. Brick breaker is a great game to pass time..

Shrinking slice of the pie.. but the pie slices are getting bigger across the board.  It’s only normal for people to jump to new options when new options become available… that’s the nature of competition.  RIM still has much potential for growth.

      • Applesucksfatties

or i can get an iPhone…put a pretty phone condom on it so I can get reception, download a bunch of useless apps, and sit in Starbucks drinking my mocha while trying to look cool with God’s gift to smartphones in my hand.. no thanks!!!!

ps.  RIM has little to no debt, positive income from operations (even while selling year old handsets), and 7 new handsets dropping this year on a ton of carriers globally (don’t forget the 3G/4G version of the PlayBook).   My prediction, RIM’s earnings take off, their stock jumps back up to the $80-90 range…and naysayers like you are left eating crow.

pss.. don’t even have brickbreaker on my Bold 9000

    Believe when I see it.

Ooooo, this is as exciting as that one time when I went to Walmart to buy some toilet paper. Blackberry wow, can’t wait!!

    • Applesucksfatties

have you been using your hand to wipe your ass since….considering you’ve only been to “Walmart one time to buy toilet paper”?

      • Commenteer

        Zing perfection!!!

      • http://twitter.com/fredacampos fredacampos

Nah, your mama licked my ass clean.  And then kissed you in the mouth.

      • Applesucksfatties

And to think her breath is still better than yours.   I’m guessing the reason why your breath smells so bad though is because you always have your nose up Steve Jobs ass….

      • Guest

u r dumb as an ass wipe

      • Applesucksfatties

Good one dipshit…   My nephew in 3rd grade could come up with a better comeback than that.

    • Applesucksfatties

Plus, I find it hard to believe you have only been to Walmart once.  You seem like one of those toothless jackwagons that hangs out in Walmart.

  • Ismileo

finally, very excited for this. not having angry birds on my phone is not a deal breaker. woot woot!

  • sirpaul

Such a beauty of a phone! I hate touch screen keyboard on my iPhone…hope they make some sort of slider soon.

Slide a cactus into your asshole.

      • sirpaul

Better yet – stick a cactus to your ScroatUM! Bet you’d like that :)

      • Applesucksfatties

He already has an iCactus up his ass…Steve Jobs told him to put it there so he listened like all good little iSheep do and jammed that iCactus right in his rectum.

    • http://twitter.com/IamGregSmith Greg Smith

Sliders get annoying, especially if you’re a power user or even intermediate. I don’t know how many times, I see people with a BB Torch and in the span of a couple minutes they slide the thing open like 10 times just to type, so dumb. Having the keyboard exposed at all times means direct and to the point at all times…

      • sirpaul

I use screen for short texts, but when im having a convo or chatting on skype or something of the like, I want a keyboard. I would like choice between software and hardware keyboard, based on the situation.

This phone or ANY blackberry phone wont launch till late 2011. The carriers still have a ton of left over 9800′s curves and bolds. No one wants to type on a physical keyboard. RIM will be dead in two years.  true story™©®

Did Apple finally load the cut and paste function on their iDevices because all of your RIM/BlackBerry comments are all copy and paste jobs from post to post.

        hahahahaha classic!

      • http://twitter.com/fredacampos fredacampos

Are you still mad at Apple cause Steve Jobs slept with your mom a few hundred times?

      • Applesucksfatties

Fred… SHADDDUP!!  My mom was under the Stevie Job trance like all of you iSheep are…   She slept with him a few hundred times and Scroat/Max/Fred has gotten in line to give him the reach around a few hundred times… no difference!!

Gross.  I’ll never purchase another BlackBerry as long as I’m a T-Mobile customer.

      K. Run along then.

  • My_lady_butler

im excited for the 9900. Looks like a sweet phone.

    • Bolson20

The 9900 is very nice but poor Battery life.  I can go 2 or 3 days with my 9780 and can only get 1 day on my 9900.  The touch screen is super clear.

      • Anonymous

What software build are you running? I’m sure it’ll get better by release. They usually do.

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad 2 (64 GB) and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $674 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, CentHub.com

The whole time I was reading the article I was just waiting for that BGR-Engadget co-patented BlackBerry snide comment and sure enough…

Does Boy Genius himself require that from all his writers now?

  • Applesucksfatties

cmon Max, where are you?  I’m waiting for more of your enlightening RIM comments. If it makes you feel any better, I’m sorry that your one and only girlfriend/boyfriend used a BlackBerry to cheat on you.  You’ll find a new girlfriend/boyfriend soon….as soon as you move out of your mom’s basement…I promise.

  • http://twitter.com/SeanKelleher Sean Kelleher

I think a lot of people are going to buy this BlackBerry. And I think a whole lot more would have bought it if the $299.99 price tag didn’t scare them off. I like RIM, but God, what a dumbass move. One way to keep customers (and hopefully gain new ones) is definitely NOT charging $299.99 on contract, after $50 mail-in rebate. They should be begging people to buy their phones at this point.
