Sony PlayStation Vita could launch in October

Sony’s brand new portable gaming console, the PlayStation Vita, could launch as soon as this fall according to IGN. A Blockbuster flier in the United Kingdom started the rumor. The advertisement suggests the PS Vita Wi-Fi edition and 3G & Wi-Fi model will both launch on October 28th. A Sony spokesperson confirmed with IGN that the company will begin a “phased global release” during the holiday season, but would not confirm specific dates. We already know that the Vita will cost $249.99 in the United States and that a version with AT&T 3G will be available for $299.99. Hopefully we see the console hit U.S. shores by the holidays, too.     Makes a lot more sense than the things Nintendo is trying to push out these days with those tiny little screens.  I’d never buy one, family already has iPod and iPad.  There is a large niche market for dedicated game hardware though, especially with dedicated input keys.

    Now if it was from a company that isn’t evil  (refuse to buy anything Sony).  Get Nintendo to build this hardware, plus all the Nintendo games, and I might have bought one when younger….

        Pretty close! I don’t want this unless I was younger and it was made by someone other than Sony… lol. And yes, not for me. But, just because I’m not in the buying group of Maserati doesn’t mean I won’t admire the design.
