    Cannot wait to get mine.

    • Bringit

Well, there’s at least one sucker out there!

      • Anonymous

Why is he a sucker? . . .  Its not bad idea at all to get your tablet with a contract if you’re the type that travels fairly often…. Tethering your phone to anything is always a bad idea that will equal a dead battery very fast.

If this was the 8.9… i’d think about it.

      • Bringit

The contract is not the problem – the issue is the contact comes tied to a  Samsung Galaxy Tab.

      • http://twitter.com/mfg68 MFG

Excuse me? I bought it off-contract because I don’t want a two-year deal, but still would like 4G in the months I need it. How does that make me a sucker? I can afford this so I wanted a future-proofed tablet. Why don’t you take your hateful comments somewhere else.

      • Anonymous

        Yes, you’re a sucker because you’re paying $529/$629 for a second-best tablet that requires a 2-year data contract.

Usually you either get a substantial discount on the device OR the data plan isn’t required. You aren’t getting either = sucker.

      • Bringit

@steven75:disqus  said it very well.  @twitter-18927377:disqus  = sucker.

      • Irishfascist1986

Android doesn’t release them? And who cares its the same with any product now days a new and better one comes out… You bought the wrong one silly head?

      • Nephv718

        I totally agree

      Me either!

  • Bob

This might be a dumb question but will this tablet work with 3G as well? Or only LTE? Cuz LTE hasnt come to my area yet.

    • Anonymous

There will be no LTE/4G only devices coming out for years… nothing to worry about.

    • Anonymous

No worries there, when LTE isn’t available, the modem will just connect to a 3G network. But if your area does not have an LTE network, then maybe you should consider saving some cash and getting a 3G version :)

As Apple’s newly hired CtO, Chief tAmpon Officer, I can proudly state that this tablet in no way compares to our beloved iPad 2 and, thus, pales in comparison. To begin, this tablet DOES not have a FULL web browser with integrated support for Flash content and, therefore, can not offer the end-user a FULL web experience; anyone wanting to watch embedded video will have to set down this tablet and turn on a desktop. Additionally, while the processors are comparable in performance, this Samsung Tablet has a substandard Front Facing Camera, wheras our beloved iPad 2 has an iWhopping FULL 300,000 Pixel Front Facing Camera (compared to just 2MP / 300,000 > 2).

We at Apple, therefore, encourage consumers to continue buying our beloved iPad and we thank you for your money.

    Most Grateful,
    PAPINYC, CtO

@c009b00976ca25649d53f2a08121b9f1:disqus  the highest rated android tablet? What exactly is your argument?

    • Bringit

Both.  It’s double jeopardy.  Paying full price for a 2 year contract AND you have an Android tablet?  The so-called “highest rated Android tablet” is still an Android tablet by the way.

But why are you posting a question to me nowhere near my post?  Do you not know how to reply?

      • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/VCBEBTYM2XLKT7WBH4OWJ5QUZ4 commonsenseplease

Apparently bringit isn’t smart enough to use an Android tablet.

If he/she/it had, they’d recognize that an Android tablet is more powerful and computer-like than an “it’s soooo easy my 3 yo can use it!!!” ipad.

To borrow from a person who was new to both Android and iO/S:  Android is like chess…it might frustrate you at first, learning the ins and outs, but it grows with you and can do more things.  The iPad is like checkers…it’s fun and easy to use, but you go no where with it.  It’s.The.Same.All.The.Time.

No thank you.  And FYI, the Transformer OR Motorola Xoom is just as good hardware wise if not better than an iPad, and the O/S is actually created FOR a tablet, unlike iO/S which is the same just on a bigger screen.  Oooooo, I see the innovation apple!  No wonder they’re suing everyone, they’re scared.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_VMPLR2MMJAVZ3W62HDWBPP25QE TheDude

Good one – starts at $530. Yeah right.  Plus a contract worth a minimum of $720 over two years.  You might want to say “on contract.”

The tablet is $500.  Plus lets say $130 for the radio cause that is what Apple charges (ok – probably more since it is LTE).  So, Verizon is giving you a $100 subsidy to sign a 2-year contract.  That is pathetic.

  • Dream

If i have already been Grandfathered in to UNLIMITD with my cell line will i still get the UNLIMITD if i decide to get the tablet???

    • Booboolala2000

      No.

    • http://identi.ca/LauRoman LaurenÈ›iu Roman

You do if you don’t get it on a new contract and get it full price…

  • Anonymous

ABSURD pricing for a subsidized tablet.  Should be significantly cheaper.

    • Anonymous

No kidding. This thing is ridiculously, unbelievably  expensive considering it requires a 2-year contract!

If the it’s $529/$629 on contract, what’s the price off contract? $900/$1000?!

      • Irishfascist1986

It’s $100 more off contract… So basically 130 more for a lte radio…really not bad but contract price should be less.

      • Pugs

You guys are so damn silly. Except the IPad 2 or 3 when it comes, there is nothing to beat the Samsung 10.1. For both IPad and Samsung you need a 3G or 4G network to take full advantage of your device. It is smart to get the 4G with a data plan if you can afford it. Both units sell for about the same price. For quite some time in the near future, nothing will be better than both devices. if you want to stay current, go with the Samsung tablet.

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, GrabPenny.com

You are FOS. Those Penny Auctions are BS and only make their owners rich.

Is there any mention of a microSD card slot in this version of the 10.1? I am trying to determine if this equation is continuing to hold true: 3G/4G capable = Available microSD card slot.
