New MacBook Air shipments reach 400,000-500,000 in June

Computers

Suppliers already shipped between 400,000 and 500,000 units of Apple’s refreshed MacBook Air in June, and shipments aren’t expected to slow anytime soon according to DigiTimes. Reportedly, the high volume of shipments is expected to remain just as strong in July and August, and “series sales” could top 14 million units this year. Apple officially took the wraps off of its updated MacBook Air on Wednesday. It has the same form factor as previous models, but it now offers a Thunderbolt I/O port, Intel’s Sandy Bridge Core i5 and Core i7 processors, a backlit keyboard, and runs Apple’s new OS X Lion operating system.

Macbook Air shipments in June? Really???

BGR, can you guys balance your “news” a little more? I swear, over 50% of your articles are about Apple. There are other companies out there you know.

Oh, and Jonathan, please make your OP’s something other than bashing RIM or blowing Apple.

You think you can do better? Start your own fooking blog.

      • TOMMMMMM

So because I didn’t start my own blog, I can’t complain? BGR wasn’t always like this, so I’m voicing some criticism. We all know Apple articles bring views which brings $$$, but a little more diversity would make this site more credible. Stop being a doucher.

Really now…I remember when BRG was a source to Engadget and other blogs back in the day until they decided to create their own.

Back then I rocked any new Nokia that came out based on what BRG reviewed.

There are very few companies that pull us from the norm.  Apple is one of them.   Maybe if you don’t like the material posted on BRG, it’s time for you to stop reading and leave.  Times change.

      • http://www.adammiarka.com Adam Miarka

And going back to that point you made on diversity…what else would you have them cover?   They already do a lot with Android…let’s see… Win7 Mobile…yeah, not happening.    Maybe Meego..oops, that is a fart in the wind too because Nokia refused to man-up and back it fully.

So tell us dear sir, what would  you rather have BRG report on?

Which model? Not that I care since they’re all horrible computers but I’m curious which model you’re selling.

I hear they’re really fast. Again nit that I care since I can build a much better mini laptop in my bathtub. But I’m curious to hear first accounts on the speed of these beauties. Am, sorry, pieces of crap.

You’re posts always make me laugh!

That is the beauty of openness and freedom. Bringing happines to every soul is the mission of the Goofan (aka Apple Hater) nation, that and of course the complete destruction of Apple!

        you’re = you are

“you are posts always make me laugh!” ???

I am selling last year’s 11.6 1.4GHz Intel C2D model, which handle my needs pretty well including light video editing. The performance on the new 11.6 i5 4GB 128GB $1199 model is great. No lags or hang ups and I have 5 desktops open and multitasking with Motion 5, FCP X, Garage Band, Tech Junkie tech news app, iTunes, Mac App Store downloading apps and 5 tabs open in firefox.

Edit: Come on man, you are obviously an Apple fan parodying GooFans

you may want to check out this deal http://www.macmall.com/p/Apple-MacBook-Air/product~dpno~8815562~pdp.giecbbf

No freaking way! You’re running motion 5 on that? Ahem, hah, I can run battleships on android!!!! Shit, that’s pretty amazing! Thanks for the link. Oh shit, sorry fellow Goofans (aka Apple Haters) I’ll burn the link. I’ll never check out that piece of shit computer!!!!!

        Thanks man. Wink wink.

If you could run either DROID OS 2.3 Gingerbread or DROID OS 3.1 Honeycomb this tablet is worthless.  OS X is too closed and walled gardened to for use.

How many laptops did dell ship on July 17th between 2 – 8 pm?

    • http://www.bgr.com Jonathan Geller

How much money did Dell make off of those shipments?

      • Anonymous

How much money they make is relevant to a tech blog how?  There was a time when revenue, or lack thereof, could spell the end of a platform.  That was the case with Mac’s at one point.  No one is certainly denying that Apple is now a driving force, and such a comparison is worthless.  The point that 1jaxstate1 was trying to make is to what relevance does this really have to a tech blog how many Air’s were sold?  And unless you are stockholder (which we know you are), what relevance does how much money Apple make to a tech blog?

  • NotEvenAFanboyJustRealTalk

Boy Apple Reports might as well just officially change the name..seriously though, just rename the site Boy Apple and Industry Sources Reports and brand the site as the #1 source for all things Apple and call it a day already. It’s getting pretty laughable at this point, this site is just one big Apple marketing shill for all of their products, every review is slanted and nothing will ever be as great as the Apple i________ .

    • Lava

And lame whining like yours is even worse. Lame. Go get a life so you can complain about things that are actually meaningful. Did you know incessant whining is universally the most annoying noise to human beings?

whaaa whaaaa whaaaaAndoid….whaaa whaaa whaaa.  What a bunch of whiny beeaatchess.  Go post in the HTC Wildfire thread below with the massive 7 other posts.

    And this is impressive? hmmmmm

  • Steel

And this number will get bigger now that Apple has finally given it a real laptop processor.  Why would you buy any other laptop?

Oh yeah; I have no use for OS X, like 90% of the world.

    • Anonymous

90% of the world mostly uses computers for email, web browsing, Facebook, etc.

It doesn’t matter what OS you use.
