Apple Store planning overnight shift on July 13th, refreshed MacBook Air, Lion release possible

Computers

Apple has started to ask Apple Store employees to prepare for an “overnight” shift on July 13th — a sign that the company is prepping a new release of some sort on the next day, 9to5 Mac said. Apple has already confirmed that Mac OS X Lion 10.7 will land in July, and we’re placing bets that’s what we’ll see on the 14th. However, we’re also expecting refreshed MacBook Air notebooks in the imminent future and, since the new MacBook Air will no doubt run OS X Lion, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it launch at the same time. Other specs for the refresh likely include Intel’s new SandyBridge processors and Thunderbolt I/O in place of the DisplayPort. There have even been rumors of a black anodized aluminum high-end MacBook Air, although we’re not so sure that will ever see the light of day. The good news is we just have six more days until we find out.

I’ve been using a DP of Lion for several weeks now, and I have to admit that it’s pretty amazing. That said, most of the great new stuff won’t be near as fun without a full mutitouch trackpad. There’s a reason Apple started offering it as a replacement for the Magic Mouse when you buy a new Mac.

Once we move to Lion in our office, I will be getting a magic trackpad. Now just to convince purchasing…

I spoke to the Store Manager at the Fifth Avenue location and he assured me it was nothing major, they’re just having the exterminators come in overnight. Hence, the scaffolding outside; they merely want to protect any innocent passers by and also safeguard themselves from any further lawsuits.

No one gives a shit how you spend your time harassing Apple Store Managers.  For a loser who claims to hate all things Apple including your fake Adam’s Apple you spend most of your pathetic life yapping about Apple and blowing Apple Store Managers.

Come out of the Apple closet you fairy cock.

Awwwwww ….. Scroatypooo-poo, don’t get upset. It’s not my fault that I just can quickly walk over to the crAppstore, whereas you have to take a donkey to a horse, to a bus, to a train (Amtrack), to a plane, then another train (subway) just to get there. I know, life isn’t fair but at least you have your in-breeding to fall back on [dangle preposition].

I love NYC, so much freedom.  You’re free to marry your gay boyfriend, but they are trying to ban salt in restaurants.

Nevermind, I’ll take my donkey to the Apple store any day, than to have to deal with the BS down there. (I live in Albany county)

You know, I once took a car service from Lake George to Albany [true story] and, while Lake George was as picturesque as a post card, much to my utter dismay as a New Yorker, was shocked to discover that our State’s capitol was one big a$$ ghetttoo town [no, not a mis-spelling; so ghetto it deserves three t's and two o's]!!

I would rather live here in Manhattan next to two married men, who are more than likely well educated with disposable income, dry humping each other all day long rather than to live in a ‘Sectioned 8′ ghetttoo town, albeit the State Capitol, where the populace is completely disenfranchised and seemingly uneducated.

So take your donkey, turn it around and, do to it what was once done to you in your backyard barn.

And, for the record, I am not gay, it was just an “experiment” in college and I never saw him again [dangle preposition].

That is correct, Albany is a ghetto (most of it).  There are a lot of nice areas surrounding it though.  No I don’t live in Albany (I do live in Albany county though).

Good news.  Not an Mac guy, but competition is never a bad thing.

It sounds like this will be the first latptop with a netbook-form-factor that will really be able to keep up with true laptops.  Sandy Bridge in this form factor is huge (although the price is on par with true laptops though)

Agreed.  I’m a pc guy as well and I want to see the MacBook Air finally become a fully viable laptop so that pc manufacturers will follow suit.  It will never happen of course, but Apple would have to print money if they ever offered Windows on their own hardware designs.

Can’t you buy Macs with Windows preloaded through third-party companies?

    Here’s hoping for a Air/Mini double whammy.

We really need a SBS in the office, and a Sandy Bridge Thunderbolt-equipped Mini would do nicely.
