iPad HD could launch in September alongside iPhone 5

According to Thisismynext, Apple is prepping to launch a brand new iPad — in tandem with the iPhone 5 deployment — this fall. The rumor mirrors a report from FBR Capital markets analyst Craig Berger, who said in a note to investors on Wednesday that Apple will release a higher-end version of the iPad 2 with a display that offers a higher pixel density. The device will reportedly be called the “iPad HD” and will sport a double resolution 2048 x 1536-pixel screen. Apple plans to market the iPad HD as the “pro” model in its tablet family, and like the MacBook Pro family, it might be marketed towards the videographer and photographer crowds, which need need more muscle out of their machines. Those professionals will be happy to hear the second part of the rumor, too: the iPad HD could launch with a new mobile version of Aperture or Final Cut.

    Just another product that Apple ever so slightly improves and charges a fucking fortune for. No wonder they’re rolling in money. Not to mention Apple’s gross marginal percentages are outrageous.

      the iPad, XOOM and any tablet over $200 is over priced.  No piece of shit 10 inch, 7 inch or whatever inch tablet is worth more than $200. I’ll stick to my laptop.  No need to be that mobile and have a tablet.

    That resolution sounds far fetched. Go do some price checks on monitors that go above 1080p. And on a 10 inch screen? What’s the max res on a 17 macbook? 1920X1200? 

    IF it is true, that’s pretty impressive and would set Android tabs back quite a bit, just when they were really catching up.

    I call it bullshit, they can’t keep up with the demand for the current model and they’re going to introduce yet a new one, doesn’t make any sense. If you whore to order one online right now it will take about 2 weeks to arrive, that’s how back up they’re.

    Well, that makes no sense.  If you double the screen resolution, you will get a pretty picture, but the device will run A LOT slower.  The “low end” ipad would be much faster at everything unless these is some new super chip we dont know about.

    When will we ever see what this icrap tablet can do? You can’t even use the screens space, the only thing you can put on the screen is a apps,folder, or game center. What a waist. Take everything off the homescreen and you have a boring background with no screen customization whatsoever. Heck I will even say that isn’t a homescreen if you can’t customize it with anything other than apps.

    That is iOS failure and short coming, their suppose to be iOS is evolved around apps, without the apps iOS is nothing. No customization, its not even worth me owning. It runs smooth opening and closing apps. Other than that its worthless. From the iPad to iPhone to ipod touch, they are all the same same boring iOS

    The resolution, if indeed doubled in both x and y direction, is 4x total to 3meg.  Rear-facing camera on that iPadHD would make sense to become at least 3meg also, matching the screen resolution.  If that happens, then iPadHD should be able to capture 1080p video also.

    If you really think about it, why would Apple compete with themselves if the iPhone 4s/5 is coming out at around the same time.  People only have so much money to choose to buy one product not two different products, it just doesn’t make sense that it would come out at the same time.

    This is really good news from Apple. I will love to buy one if iPad 3 support full HD content and come with the new iOS 5 which is recently released. I hope it will come with Amoled screen to give good quality of HD.
