Bell BlackBerry lineup leaked: Torch 9810, Bold 9900, Torch 9860, Curve 9360 landing soon

mobile

BlackBerry fans on Bell won’t have to wait long for a new Torch, Bold, or Curve. TechFIBE picked up some leaked documentation that suggests the carrier will sell the new phones — which we leaked in April — in just a few months. Specifically, Bell will launch the BlackBerry Torch 9810, BlackBerry Bold 9900, and the full-touchscreen BlackBerry Torch 9860 in late August, followed by the BlackBerry Curve 9360 launch in September. BGR reported this past May that the Monaco 9850 and Monza 9860 could launch under a new “Volt” banner or the BlackBerry Torch brand, and according to this document it looks like RIM may have gone with the latter. Bell also confirms what we already knew: that the Torch 9810, Bold 9900, and Torch 9860 will all offer 1.2GHz processors, while the Curve 9360 will be powered by a slower 800MHz chip.

OMG! more positive blackberry news on a leading anti-blackberry/pro apple news site. Looks like head honcho Apple Vader must be on vacation.

    • Anonymous

This is probably the most pro blackberry blog I follow. and don’t get me started on Apple….

      • Applesucksfatties

You must not follow very many blogs then… because Crackberry, N4BB, and BerryReview all are more Blackberry friendly than iBGR…

      • Anonymous

Peace anf forgiveness guys, if BGR wants to kiss and make amends, let’s have it. I for one am enjoying this pro-RIM BGR day.

      • Bart

Those are all blackberry blogs, of course they are pro. He’s talking general blogs.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JNKVTT7PJMXPYP2GVCIERBQQCU Andrew

You guys are tools.  You want everything to be all rosey when talking about RIM.  Well they need to do something positive to warrant the positive news.  They have been doing crap and have been getting crap for it.  Everything they get is self-inflicted and well deserve.  Whether this site or others.

      • Applesucksfatties

Andrew..  why don’t you just rename yourself “IgiveStevieBJobs” and get it over with..

  • Bringit

Get off the Blackberry dick BGR!  I am deleting you immediately!  More Android more Android  - Android ONLY!

    • Anonymous

Numbers stopped making sence a while ago really… Nothing to see here.

    • Rudy Herfurth

Oddly enough Bell is CDMA / HSPA …

    • Anonymous

How did they fuck up the Model Numbers?
      Bell is a CDMA carrier…

  • Nog

Will Bold 9900 updated to QNX OS??

    • Anonymous

      No is the long answer

      • Anonymous

No is the MOST LIKELY answer. History would support this position a well.

But nobody here can see the future, so let’s wait and see.

      • BerryKing

        Get your info straight!
When RIM decided to relocate resources to work on QNX phones just a couple weeks ago, if I’m not mistaken, they are workin on the 1 core QNX phone first cause they said the battery life for dual core is still not good enough yet! But they will also initilise that! And it should work on the new devices coming out this year since they were talking about 1.2GHz to work with QNX

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JNKVTT7PJMXPYP2GVCIERBQQCU Andrew

There’s nothing wrong with battery on a dual core.  Actually if the processor is right, dual core phones have better batteries than single core.  Android is a battery hogging OS but there’s a significant difference in battery performance between the HTC Sensation and the EVO as well as the LG G2x and EVO 3D.  If the processor is a good efficient one and the manufacturer puts a good battery in it, there should be no problem.  You’re just buying into RIM stall tactics.  Watch Apple whip out a dual core iPhone in the fall that will have better battery life than all these other devices.  Then I wonder what would be the excuse.  The problem is RIM was dicking around with that garbage playbook and should have been working on trying to get QNX on single core.  Now they are trying to catch up with their missteps while releasing garbage devices they wasted their time on.

      • Drew

@Andrew I knew as soon as it came out of Laziridis’ mouth, he was full of shit. They’ve been pumping out dual core since last October and he’s talking like they just came out and nobody’s figured out the battery life issue…

      • Applesucksfatties

Andrew – crApple won’t be coming out with a dual core phone for some time.   They’ll just keep adding blinky lights and more fart apps… and they’ll listen to the sheep flock to the stores thinking they are buying the greatest technology known to man.. BAAAAAA BAAAAAA BAAAAAA

    • Anonymous

I heard that 9900 will be able to upgrade to QNX.

here we go again “soon” yes BGR you are right soon since may?

  • Anonymous

    What’s a blackberry?

Do people use those voluntarily anymore???

    • Anonymous

OMG LMAO…. never heard that one before, did you think that up all by yourself?

    • QNX

Yes. They are the best Phones. If you disagree, you are wrong.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JNKVTT7PJMXPYP2GVCIERBQQCU Andrew

Yeah that fledgling market share also disagrees as well.  Only people that get blackberries are BES users that are forced to use them and anyone looking for a cheap two way pager with calling features.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_GP2WYAHXS6CRUREISWBGPUSUGE Michael

    NO DLNA support?

    *shrugs*

i didn’t think i’d like DLNA but i don’t know that i could do without it now.

    • Anonymous

How does one not like DLNA? Just wondering.  Wouldn’t that be like not liking WiFi or not liking Bluetooth?

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_GP2WYAHXS6CRUREISWBGPUSUGE Michael

Well for a long time i didn’t have the internet at my house. I just relied on everything via my phone, or neighbors much weaker wi-fi signal. But i got Fi-Ops and couldn’t be happier. I’m glad a waited i got a super deal for plaid speed interwebs.

  • Anonymous

WOW! more PRO rim new from ibgr…..incredible!!!! i’m sure by tomorrow, they’ll start bashing rim again somehow.

    • Steve Jenkins

For sure, they are playing good cop bad cop. they know what they are doing.

  • Anonymous

This is considered pro-Blackberry news? Did you guys look at that pitiful lineup?

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JNKVTT7PJMXPYP2GVCIERBQQCU Andrew

Exactly.  Think stink.  As long as the OS is the same, I don’t care if they put a dual core on it.  They can put 2GB of RAM and a 1.5 gHz super snapdragon but if it’s still running a variation of the existing OS it’s useless.

      • Applesucksfatties

oh Andy.. don’t you have a iFart app to download?  Maybe you can swap out the phone condom on your iCrap 4..

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JNKVTT7PJMXPYP2GVCIERBQQCU Andrew

Still the same boring, garbage OS.  Only now you can get your truncated emails a little faster.

  • Max

More Torches and Curves? You don’t say! How original! Good enough for lackwit BB morons though.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1001483324 Gerry Quaglia

    Yawn.

  • worldbfree4me

A whole Gigahertz processor for a one trick texting pony seems like over kill. Imagine a Prius with a V8! Plain over kill RIM!! Save those dollars for R&D or for buyouts when Google buys you out.

    • Anonymous

Overkill? Not necessarily so. It could possibly be BB OS 7′s required comfort level for newer multi tasking + apps’ preconditions? Not all crackberry addicts can attest to an all sublime performance unless they’re on leaked OSes last time I checked on current OS 6.

  • Anonymous

well despite all the Negative Comments from the plethora of RIM hatters on this site,  this is very positive news for those of us who live mobile and require a communications tool to do so,

I VERY much hope that RIM has managed to maintain the strong battery life of the 97XX devices with this new 99XX device  it will make it truly a fantastic device.

What I like most about this “road map” is the late August dates  and not September dates that have been leaked for UK releases.   I really want to get one of these devices!

Sure I still wont let me surf the internet lightning fast,  Nor will I have google turn by turn navigation, but what I will have is the device I can navigate with 1 hand while replying to emails between flights running from gate to gate.   AND a device that will last from sun up to sun down with heavy use.

Too bad these pieces of junk won’t be able to run QNX properly when it’s finally released for phones. RIM is almost as bad as android for not supporting their hardware.  true story™©®

    • Drew

Yes, those POS won’t be able to run QNX and that’s why these phones are a waste of time but where do you get off saying RIM is as bad as Android for not supporting their hardware?? Will that statement be followed by any facts or do you just vomit your Apple bullshit 24/7??

      • Anonymous

Can the 9800 torch run os 7? It’s a year old. From what I’m hearing no. It
gets some bullshit 6.1 lol. That’s one example.  true story™©®

      • Applesucksfatties

Scroater.. shouldn’t you be making out with your sister and not posting smack on BlackBerry articles?   What I find funny is how people bitch about technology and that their old Gateway computer isn’t able to run Windows 7 so they are pissed.  C’mon people.. technology changes so rapidly that not every electronic device can be built to run the newest software.  I’m running a Bold 9000 with OS 5.  Am I bitching that I can’t get OS 6 or OS 7?  NOPE!!   I’m patiently waiting to upgrade to the soon-to-be best phone on the market.. the Bold 9900.

      • Anonymous

Lol. Bold 9900. Hahha that phone shoulda been released last year. I think
it’s fair to complain that the torch won’t get the latest software after a
year. The iPhone 3GS will be 2 years+ old and will run ios5. The reason the
torch won’t get bb7 is cuzz the shitty ass hardware can’t handle it. That’s
a fact. Cmon man a 600mhz processor? Lol. True story™©®

      • Applesucksfatties

Pish posh.. the 3GS is running the newest iOS because crApple is known for taking the pig and putting another shade of lipstick on it and calling it a newer, better pig..

      • Anonymous

Can ANY stock blackberry be used as a wifi hot spot right now? No. They say
it’s coming but android and iOS have had it for months. Yeah good job RIM
way to give the customer what he wants.  true story™©®

      • Yu8890

Tethering on bb is flawless, way way better than ios or android. The modem on a bb is built so well that uploads and downloads are quite faster than a wifi device. Granted, a cradlepoint is required, but nevertheless, to say a stock bb does not do wifi hotspots is completely NOT true. RIM’s failure is unrelated to their hardware or software, it’s related to their marketing. ie, IBM/Lenovo split. Smart move. Business needs and consumer needs are different. Rim should have kept it’s business devices like the bold series and made some funner playbookesque devices for the cattle. Secure, robust, server-grade solutions ought not be looked down upon by people who want flashy 300 mega pixel cameras with 47″ displays that run 400,000,000 apps and can wipe your ass. I’ll use my bb to run my business and use toilet paper to wipe my ass. At least my email is secure and my ass is clean.

      • Anonymous

Lol. What are u “tethering”? Ur playbook via bridge? Hahaha. Ok good one. U claiming u can turn ur bb into a wifi hotspot? Which phone are u using?

  • Todd

The new Bold is SUPER fast!!  If you didn’t know it was a single core, you’d swear it was a dual core.

  • Anonymous

RIM bought the site ! lol

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JNKVTT7PJMXPYP2GVCIERBQQCU Andrew

Yeah RIM is now paying people to write some positive news.

    • Applesucksfatties

they wouldn’t waste any of their billions on this garbage site.
