Apple to patch iPhone, iPad security hole

mobile

Apple has promised to patch a security hole found in the iPhone and iPad following a report published by Germany’s Federal Office for Information Security. Reportedly, a PDF security hole could allow hackers to gain unauthorized access to personal data — such as messages and passwords — stored on an iPhone or iPad and could “infect the mobile device with malware without the user’s knowledge.” Apple’s PR team was quick to respond to the allegations. “[Apple is] aware of this reported issue and developing a fix that will be available to customers in an upcoming software update,” Bethan Lloyd, an Apple spokesperson told AFP on Thursday. Apple has not yet confirmed when it will push out the security update.

No surprise here. They have to say this.

Surprised this took so long to be posted, the original report was 2 days ago, and Apple only knew because the hacker community WENT TO APPLE to tell them that they should maybe consider fixing the problem…

Good news – Apple shares are up!

I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46 inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it only cost me $52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get all this stuff, LiveCent.com

Instead of BGR posting the original article about a hole being found and that iOS is unsafe, they post first that the hole will be patched!!

    Typical BGR
    Always the same fallacy bs

How bout they figure out how to make the ringer not stop working randomly, and no the silent switch on the side is not engaged. Im tired of having to look at my wifes and moms iphone to figure out why the hell its not working.

If there is a problem with the phone bring it to the apple store and get it fixed. iPhones come with tech support, it’s not an android phone we’re dealing with here.

they need to come with tech support. Third trip to the apple store. twice for the same issue once on my moms once on my wifes once for the shitty proximity sensor. Im not even the one make the trips to the apples store and im already sick of it. Im so tired of people assuming that android phones are shit and iphones are flawless.

For android phones you bring it to the damn place you bought it and they replace it for free because of its 1 year warranty.

No big surprise here!  This is why I downgraded iOS5 on my iPad 2 to 4.3.3 before they patched this hole!  I figured it would be about a week to patch/deploy the 4.3.4 update.
