Apple manufacturing partners may build 5 million iPad 2 units in July

Tablets

Apple’s manufacturing partners are slated to build 5 million iPad 2 units in July alone, DigiTimes reports. The new claim follows an earlier report stating Apple will ship between 12 million and 14 million iPad 2 tablets in the third quarter of 2011, doubling the Cupertino-based technology giant’s second-quarter shipment volume. DigiTimes claims Cando, Sintek Photronic, Chimei Innolux, TPK Holding and Wintek will combine to supply 5 million touch sensors this month, matching the volume they reportedly filled in June. Apple’s iPad 2 remins one of the best-selling consumer electronics devices on the market, and Apple may launch an updated version of the tablet later this year according to rumors.

Who cares? DROID tablets have taken over just like DROID phones.

Norm …. you are stupid. For one thing, ANDROID phones are taking over iPhone. NOT DROID. There is a HUGE difference. HTC is the biggest distributor of ANDROID phones, NOT Motorola. And another thing, Android tablets haven’t made a dent in iPad market. iPad is still king of the tablet space.

Why so shy? Why call them “partners” only? Call them the west wing of Foxconn, the factory where workers are:
    -beaten
    -tortured
    -under age
    -paid less than 100$/month
-commit suicide to attract attention on the miserable conditions they are forced to live and work in.

Call it loudly, and proudly FOXCONN! The world’s dump where chargers, hair dryers, talking toilet seats and iPhones are made.

    iPride FTW!

You do know many other companies use Foxconn, right? Like other big tech companies? A quick Google search will reveal the following clients:

      - Apple
      - Amazon
      - Acer
      - Asus
      - Intel
      - HP
      - Nintendo
      - Nokia
      - Microsoft
      - Sony

But no, go ahead and continue to post your anti-Apple drivel. You never responded to my post where I took your blog (that you whore) to task, so I doubt you really care at all about being accurate.

I did say chargers didn’t I? They do make bricks for a whole lot of companies. Well add mice and keyboards for MS if you care so much.

Also a quick google will reveal that Intel makes it’s stuff in malaysia, thailand and diffuses CPUs in france germany and US while nokia has it’s own nokia branded factories for a long while, most of them in the EU and even if some are in china they’re not depending on 3rd parties since a long time.

Makes me think truth is always hard to swallow but shiny plastic and good advertising is all you want to know about a new iToy.

It’s well documented that they more significant work than simple chargers for other companies. Sony has PS3s made by Foxconn, for instance? Where’s your vitriol for the PS3?

      • http://theiphonefever.blogspot.com/ Michael Schwartz

Not that much into consoles but I will suppose you’re right without double checking.
After removing second boot and staking GeoHot and many others I’ve let pass and forgot it’s no wonder their web servers got wiped off the globe. A company who lacks ethics as much as Sony, is likely to have hundreds of dollars worth of crap built by children.

Partner? They are contract manufacturers who bid the the pleasure of making apple products. They can and do drop them anytime.

I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46 inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it only cost me $52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get all this stuff, LiveCent.com
