This would be great if you could activate any phone on it. Even if it was only 2gb or 1.5gb of data per month and only 3g it would be great. I think you can only activate an authorized GoPhone though, but I have seen hacks for doing it with iPhones 3g/3gs/4.

    • Anonymous

You can activate various phones, but that data costs extra unless you settle for what you can see through a WAP browser on a feature phone

      • classicpj

you can use any phone. it doesnt matter as long as it is gsm and has att 3g bands it will work. i was using the att fuze with a go plan before i switched to sprint. data worked just fine.

  • http://twitter.com/gikku iGikku

this is what those unlocked iPhones from Apple Stores are really for.

  • Sabu213

unlimited talk text and web on a gophone, but if i have a smartphone i can still pay 50$ for goPhone service but have to choose a data plan?

So can i switch over my Inspire “4g” to this plan from my current 700 min plan/ $15 text/ $30 data plan?

    • Bahicks87

No smartphones will not work on this. You will have to get a separate smartphone data plan we offer. I work at one of their corporate stores.

How do you know if it’s a smart phone? Since it’s a sim-card-based indicator, couldn’t the sim card be activated on a regular gophone and moved into a smart phone?

      • Guest

As soon as you move it to another phone, the IMEI number (unique to every device) is sent which indicates which phone your using.

      • SSS

The reason it doesn’t work in a smartphone is because Att doesn’t provision the apn when the sim is placed in one. They have no way to tell what phone u are using if the phone was never branded by Att. The sys will read unkown. If you set the apn yourself the data does work.

      • classicpj

your full of bs. i worked for att at a call center plus i know personally it will work. ive done it. i had a fuze on a go phone plane. all you have to do is call in and change the imei number of your phone and everything will work just fine

Damn AT&T let it go! Who really wants a “feature” phone? Give it to the smart phones also!

    • Googdd

Of course they won’t. Prepaid is a way to still get some money from those customers that won’t pay their bills. And contract plans wont go away because Americans aren’t going to want to pay $600 for their phones. They are not going to make it easy to defraud themselves on the contracts people have signed for premium phones like the iPhone and infuse.

GoPhone has smartphone, ie Android and Windows 7. The question is, would they be an exception.

  • Anonymous

It’ll be $19.99 before the holidays.

“Go Phone’, really; ‘Go’ get some actual service!

    • Anonymous

Do you have AT&T to know anything about who gets service or no? Don’t believe what you read droid troll not everyone has horrible service with them. They have over 90 million subs. I’m sure over 90% are happy with their service otherwise they’re morons for staying with them.

      • Anonymous

Well, you’re almost right. They are not, contrary to popular belief, morons; they are mostly iMorons.

I was at UHAUL the other day and in front of me was one of the most annoying, anorexic, bleached bimbos I had ever seen. She was complaining about late fees she incurred because she couldn’t pay her storage unit on time; she was insisting that the fees be removed from her bill. The young man helping her declined saying, there was nothing he could do about the charges. She then, started to throw an anorexic tantrum and fling her cheap dye job. When that didn’t help, she pulled out her iPad and threatened to blog the incident claiming she had ‘many followers’. She literally just opened the tAmpon case, swiped the screen left, then hit the “Hommo” button; I doubt she even knew how to use that iPad. I could tell she was a scammer anyway because consistent with that flaunted crAppPad and bleached hair, she was wearing a fake Rolex and had a pair of old ratty shoes she pulled out of her storage unit; “people” with real Rolex watches don’t store shoes, they throw them away or send to consignment!

There’s a good example of you AT&T iWannabeez’!!!
        True story, for real.

Admit it. It was ur crack whore sister right?

      • stephanie

What does this dumb ass story have to do with you knowing nothing about AT&T?

      • Anonymous

i agree at&t works fine, could be better, but atleast its not as bad as sprint

Ay Fransisco, yo tenia Cingular, alias AT&T, alias Cingular y AT&T otra vez en el 2005 y era una puta mierda y pura caca. En serio y sin duda!

      • ym

        Una toma de su culo

  • Bryientbrown

Could I put my iPhone on a plan like this since I’m not on contract with At&t becaue I bought my iPhone off contract from apple

    • BurleyShells

will need to add a data plan

      • Bryientbrown

That’s True but what are the chances at&t comes out with a prepaid plan for the iPhone?

      • Anonymous

        no chance

  • http://profiles.google.com/blackgoat226 Orlando Rojas

would I be able to take a pre-paid phone I have here in the US and then add this unlimited plan to it and take it to Mexico and use all the features? I’m thinking this would be cheaper than buying a 25$ dollar phone in Mexico and pay around 40$ bucks to load it up for internet, texting, and international calling?  My plan is to cheap out and cheat the system haha.

  • Anonymous

So really this is not a PLAN with internet other than WAP, to use any phone that actually has a when browser you have to add data services on top of it, making it no less than $15 more than competing pre-paid options from companis like MetroPCS.

  • http://www.plan8.tv Roanhouse

so its really a $55 to $75 plan + taxes & fees depending on what internet option you choose. I’m assuming the GoPhone plan only works with the crap $60 dollar phone too.

  • http://twitter.com/JustStart JustStart

“Smartphone customers can choose unlimited talk and text for $50 and select one of three data package options from $5 to $25.”

So, this is cheaper than normal, right?

  • Phillip Dudas

Would be nice if when GoPhone users get access to send SMS to Mexico, Canada and 100 other countries for no extra charge that Post Paid customers would get this too.

Mr Haselton is slightly incorrect stating that there’s unlimited web – you pay for that!! And surely this gracious offer by AT&T, is only applicable to those blindly loyal to the big blue? Compared to Tracfone’s Straight talk, Boost, and Virgin, this prepaid offering can seriously only be making T-Mobile’s offering look better than what it really is. And as far as hacking is concerned, you’ll be far better off getting your hands on one of ST’s nokia smart phones, and using that sim in your iPhone.

  • Ciper

This is CRAP! Any Smartphone requires a data plan in addition to the 50$ a month.
The available plans are “$5 for 10 MB, the $15 for 100 MB and the $25 for 500 MB”?! (straight from the horses mouth)
They want to charge 50% more for only 500mb?

I was considering switching until I got the real details. Glad I still
have my 4G Android on MetroPCS with truely unlimited data.

  • TEEBEE7PM

I HAVE AN IPHONE 4 ON GO PHONE SERVICE. I PAY $75 FOR UNLIMITED TALK, TEXT AND 200MB PER MONTH.

  • PLEASE HELP

If I DON’T use the net or stream video’s or receive emails how long would the $5.00 10MB last on my 3g phone? I just make calls and text but I got a sweet smart phone from a friend……..

  • Jay

So wait… If I buy this plan.. Can I put it in iPhone 4?? 0_o

  • fulano detal

  • Minixpsycho66

    • Joeysmomma14
