Top marketing exec at RIM leaves for Samsung

Business

Brian Wallace, the Vice President of digital marketing and media at Research In Motion, has reportedly left the BlackBerry maker for Samsung — the top cell phone company in the U.S. According to Advertising Age, Wallace will pick up at Samsung as Vice President of strategic marketing for the U.S. Instead of focusing on digital media, Wallace will also work on branding and offline media. Research In Motion announced its first-quarter earnings yesterday and missed analyst estimates for the quarter. The firm shipped 500,000 units of its new BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, but also said that it would have to reduce its workforce.

calling people fags and homos- good one!  glad you can be real tough on the interwebs.  would love to see you try that shit in real life.  BGR comments used to be actual intelligent discussions now it is riddled with fan boys jumping all over each other.  Jesus Christ you didn’t make the cell phone, you just bought it. ANYONE CAN DO THAT.

No big deal, RIM’s marketing has been terrible for the last few years. This should be seen as a good thing, maybe RIM can bring someone in to revitalize the brand.

Who cares if RIM sold 14 million phones. Two fers mean fuck all. Nokia sold like 400 million phones last year and how well did their future look according to their CEO??? I’m glad u think STUDS like me have an influence on a huge company like RIM. true story. I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46 inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it only cost me $52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get all this stuff, BidsGet. com

I would consider this as good for RIM considering how bad their marketing arm has been of late.

    Sorry Samsung!
