Nokia’s Windows Phones will launch in six European countries first

mobile

According to AllAboutPhones, Nokia will launch its first Windows Phone handsets in six European countries this year. Oddly, Finland will not be one of them. The Finnish phone maker has said that it plans to launch the new devices by Q4 2011, and the first six countries named include France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands. If your country isn’t on that list, fear not. Nokia has said that it plans to launch as many as a dozen Windows Phones throughout 2012, some of which will pack dual-core processors. We’re looking forward to Nokia bringing its drop-dead gorgeous hardware to U.S. store shelves, too.

Throat Bearded adults and loser kids want Android.  That’s their target audience.

Why did they choose Windows Phone over Android?  A few years ago, Nokia was like “Symbian this, Symbian that” even though we all were like wuh???

    • Anonymous

Because Android is about to get smacked out of existence by Oracle.

Because MS Paid them a dump truck load o’ cash.  Although it may be a smartest move possible since they were too arrogant to make their own os, and didn’t buy webOS.  Not much profit in Android, its a race to the bottom just like the pc industry was.  Of course the only way that WP7 OS could turn out the same way.  They are really between a rock and a hard spot.

So maybe they are uniquely placed to decide on wether to go down the ‘open and unregulated’ road.

maybe they’d like a little more control this time to preserve the UX?

Nokia should put the guys who designed the communicator 9300 back in charge, add wp7 and touchscreen on it and i’d be happy.
i hope they get back on track cause technically they made some of the best phones ever.

What’s up with how horrible this particular phone looks?  I’m not talking about the operating system.  I’m talking the phone itself.

In today’s cutthroat environment you have to come out swinging.  Nokia really needs to start incorporating some nice looking hardware to go with the software.

It is called rendering… The picture doesn’t represent an actual product. Get it?

I hope you’re correct. Though I’m assuming you’re guessing and therefore
talking out of your ass. Get it?

You guessed and you were rude. Fitting you mentioned ass, cause you’re full

Would you prefer another anonymous, bland device that looks like the rest?
Nokia produce (or, at least HAVE produced) some of the best hardware in the business.
Maybe not Stateside – but there are other countries out there, ya know?

i hope they get back on track cause technically they made some of the best phones ever. I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46 inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it only cost me $52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get all this stuff, BidsGet. com
