Samsung Galaxy S II for AT&T makes an appearance

Holding out for arguably the best Android device in the world to finally hit AT&T? Well, it’s coming. We don’t know exactly when, but thanks to an international Samsung Facebook page, the Samsung Galaxy S II for AT&T looks like it has been updated to the carrier’s specifications, sporting four Android menu keys and styling similar to the AT&T Infuse 4G. While Samsung’s Galaxy S II is available for purchase in the U.S. with AT&T 3G bands, you’d be paying full retail price upwards of $700 as opposed to picking up an AT&T-branded one with a two year agreement for what we’re guessing will end up being $199.

    If I were to give up my Dell Streak, it would be for this.  If the screen is as clear as the original Galaxy, couple that with the dual core, 2.3, 2.4, this will be a really nice phone.

    that’s not the galaxy s II, the dock fits both the infuse and galaxy s II. the phone is the infuse.

      I’m gonna have to disagree with you. First and foremost, the phone on the article is not the Infuse. The on and off logo on the Infuse is on the opposite side. I’m an infuse owner

        Well, it’s not the Attain/SGS2. Look through the photos in the Facebook gallery. The Attain/SGS2 has a camera bulge and hardware button in the other pics.

        Engadget is stupid and filled with a lot of non-technical fluff (kinda’ like the way Scroat fluffs me; he is a good fluffer)! Besides, it’s for the non-technical international sect’ who are still learning how to use computers. BGR is all American and all technical; sure, sometimes we get foreigners but they don’t stay long because it’s too technical.

        I think it is the other way around. BGR is very phone-centred, while Engadget likes to cover a lot wider  area when it comes to tech news, such as new robots and other cutting-edge technologies.

    I used this phone for few days for sure way better than my iphone 4, I wish Skype will add videw call to it too and probably will buy an unlocked one out side AT7T they work better.

        We’re hoping you’ve hit a quite a few bugs by day 4. I’d actually like to read about what you’ve found. I registered my phone through eBay transfer and was rather impressed by the new OS. By the end of the 2nd day I’ve found a multitude of major bugs in the software, and my phone likes to restart maybe 4 times a day. Not a big deal since this is only the first beta – I wasn’t expecting anything near perfect – but still worth noting and talking about. I know in a post you said it is more stable than current OS versions of BB and, I believe, Windows Phone, but this is simply untrue. Maybe it is more stable with iPhone 4, but I know with my 3GS it is very buggy. For a beta 1 release, I’d give it a 8/10 (where 10 is least buggy) and for final release it would be somewhere around a 3.

    Android = throw shit at the wall daily and beat people into submission with subpar but (eventually) super cheap phones.  By the time people figure out they got suckered (generally 1-2 days) a new version will be out to get you excited for MASSIVE screens and the ability to change the home screen.

    This phone would be awesome except it has 800×480 resolution.
    Too many phones coming with 960×540 to ignore Samsung holding out on updating resolution.
    I won’t go into all the other reasons I would just not buy Samsung. Use Google and see.

    That’s the Infuse in the picture. If you click through the pics on Facebook, you’ll see there are TWO DIFFERENT PHONES pictured. The SGS/2Attain is the one with a larger camera bulge and the hardware button.
