Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary edition landing November 15th

During Microsoft’s keynote at the E3 2011 tradeshow in Los Angeles on Monday, Microsoft confirmed that it will launch a special edition of Halo, titled “Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary” edition on November 15th — the 10 year anniversary of the franchise’s launch. The game will offer the same seven amazingly addictive multiplayer maps like the original, but will also now include enhanced support for Xbox LIVE features and a “fully remastered” campaign mode with support for co-op play over Xbox LIVE. We’re here in Los Angeles for E3 2011 so hopefully we’ll be able to get some hands-on time soon.

        Does this mean you haven’t played the original? The first game was better than 2… The Halo itself was a unique concept…. A world on the interior of a ring… And you could look up and see that world around you. That alone was worth seeing throughout the game. But regenerating health changed FPS games probably forever… It just wasn’t the same the second time around, even if the Arbiter was cool to play.

    There were more than 7 multiplayer maps in the original. Something tells me they are going to screw this up. All they needed to do was add Live to the multiplayer. The vague description Microsoft has given though still leaves me uncertain that is even being added.

    This is like Star Wars being constantly re-released with a “digital remaster” and the “super cereal for realsies version” and all that.

    On the other hand… bros will buy. Can’t blame Microsoft for going after the sure money. They’re a corporation, and corporations are expected to do the smart thing when it comes to maximizing profits.

    I remember when XBOX first came out. I got one as my Birthday gift. They had HALO as an original launch title….and you could play it at the store. I wanted HALO soooo bad. I couldn’t find it anywhere. Mom kept telling me it was sold out. So for the first 2 weeks….i was stuck playing Project Gotham Racing.

    People are still begging for remakes of the Original Halo maps to this day.

    Well after reading on IGN that the Campaign mode is keeping all physics and gun attributes from the original while the Multiplayer is on another disc with Halo:Reach physics and armor I think I will have to pass.

    Does anyone know if we’ll get Halo: Reach graphic quality from this version? I think Halo CE was (still is) an instant classic, but it really can’t compete graphic wise with Halo 3 and Reach.

    Also, I vaguely remember Bungie saying they were done with Halo after Reach. So that would mean Bungie will not have their hands on this one… If that’s the case we can easily expect Microsoft to
    mess this up.

    8 player co op , with campaign maps that have 1 million easter eggs and some gamerpoints for playing the game every hour. better have all that
