18 more days I cant even wait to get the HTC Evo 3D!  Last month of T-Mobile.

Guy’s question I need to ask, I went to sprint because I can get the port in credit plus 30 day exchange my phone (Nexus s 4G) when the EVO 3D came out. However, I did this on April 23rd, now knowing that the phone is coming out on the 24th should I get a second account and return the Nexus S 4G canceling the first account and losing the port in credit..

    • Pelepus

Or you could just give me your money and I’ll show you how to spend it wisely.

      • http://twitter.com/BlazeBlu2kx Geary Saddler

OK, that wasn’t the answer I was looking for..

    • Adam 27 Rogers

Also, April 23 is actually 60 days passed. Not 30 so you are way over either way. You can’t return it now cause May 23 would of been your 30 days.

      • http://twitter.com/BlazeBlu2kx Geary Saddler

        Sorry, just edited it now..

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JNKVTT7PJMXPYP2GVCIERBQQCU Andrew

If you did all this on April 23rd aren’t you pay the 30 day “trial” preiod?  Wouldn’t you get a ETF?  If so, just sell your Nexus and put the difference towards a full retail EVO 3D. I see they are going for 400+ on eBay.  Otherwise it might cost you more money by canceling one account and opening another if you have ETF plus the last month’s bill.

      • http://twitter.com/BlazeBlu2kx Geary Saddler

Though i thought if you cancel under the 30 days with sprint then you don’t have to pay a thing….

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JNKVTT7PJMXPYP2GVCIERBQQCU Andrew

Of course I responded before you edited the date LOL.  Anyhow, I would do 1 of these 2 things:

        1) Take your Nexus back before the 30day period.  Grab a cheap dumbphone
and use it.  make sure they reset your eligibility and then use the
upgrade to buy the 3D.  I had problems doing this with TMO because they couldn’t reset my eligibility.  But Sprint is different.  So try this.  If not….

        2) Go to Sprint and tell them you want to return the phone but you only want the 3D when it comes out but that’s just after your return period.  And if they won’t let you swap  it, threaten to cancel your account and see if they comply.  The reason I suggested this is because this is what I did with TMO.  The guy quickly said, “Here’s what we’re going to do…. you keep the G2X until the Sensation comes out and you can swap them.  Whether it’s 2 weeks or 2 months, you can swap it”.  So he and another manager wrote it on my receipt and signed it.  Try this and see what they do for you.

No, after your 30 Days you wont have to pay anything. Its just tough luck for you you made your purchase on the 23rd and not the 24th. There isnt a limit on how many times you can return a phone in your 30 days if you dont like it, but there is a $35 return/exchange fee and they have the right to deny you after the 2nd exchange. Thats gonna be a lot of work just to get an EVO no matter how you slice it. But your best bet would be to cancel on the 22nd or 23rd of June. Then start a new plan on the 24th.

You’ll get laughed at if you try to hustle sprint about getting a new device after your 30 days especailly when you aren’t a long time customer. So cancelling and starting again on the 24th is your only real option.

and going unnoticed…the EPIC drops down to $149…I see an EPIC 2 around the bend.

    • Jmoroh

It’s called the Samsung Galaxy S II and rumors indicate it will be dropping on Sprint, Verizon, and At&t. The name for the Sprint SGS2 is supposedly the Samsung Within. Look it up…looks like an awesome phone!

  • Deval

I think the EVO 4G also dropped down to $149…not a bad price for that phone.

  • SoHardToSayGoodbye

While I’m excited to get the EVO 3D on the 24th, part of me is hating the fact that I’ll be letting my current EVO go.  We’ve been through a lot.  It’s been the best phone I’ve ever had.  I know I’ll be getting an even better phone with the new EVO it’s just saying good bye to my current EVO that tugs at my heart a bit.

    Oh well…..I’ll get over it.

    • Sugar booger

lol @ “We’ve been through a lot.” I feel the same -sniff sniff

  • Portorokk

i dont like the fact that is changing their data plans for tablets. $34.99 for 3gb? that should be unlimited. come on sprint, dont f**K up now!

All good things are MEANT to come to an end. We on sprint should be proud that HTC and SPRINT have a great working relationship to a point where we will always be recieving the best devices from htc as far as the EVO family line is concerned. I know now that I can proudly place my Evo 4g the granddaddy of all 4g android devices into RETIREMENT knowing that the BATON will be passed to the newest member of the family the Evo 3d. This device will be the best device on android for the summer of 2011 just like the evo 4g was for the summer of 2010. Sprint has lead all carriers in innovation we were first to 4g, then forst to have a singlecore 4g android device, and now in 2011 a dualcore android device. I can tell you now that HTC already has the QUADCORE EVO device in production for 2012 nothing will ever be better than an evo device espically if htc/qualcomm/sprint has anything to do with it. I hope current evo 4g owners have done there homework on this upcoming evo 3d device because if they did they will find out that straight out of the box content wise and technology wise no other device will be better. The dualcore 1.2 Ghz asynchronous processor runing at 45n will allow this device to operate mostly on one core for all the day to day activities we may be done on this device which will allow the best battery life any evo devices has ever had. Plus HTC has built in there own battery management application to further help device owners and if you look at video’s from the very close cousin the Sensation from tmobile then you will see exactly HOW GREAT BATTERY LIFE WILL BE ON THE EVO 3D. Engadget as well as pc mag has already awarded the Sensation on tmobile with BETTER BATTERY LIFE THAN THE Samsung Galaxy S2. Bottomline here everyone will see exactly how great this device will be on day one.
