iPad 3 with 4G LTE due for release ahead of holidays, research firm claims

Tablets

Apple will release a new 4G LTE-enabled iPad tablet later this year according to Hong Kong-based research firm CLSA. The firm cites channel checks in stating that Apple’s iPad 3 will launch ahead of the holidays this year. CLSA also alludes to a Retina Display being on board alongside the new 4G LTE radio. “While most vendors appear fixated on matching the specs and features of iPad2, our checks suggest Apple will release iPad3 in time for the holiday season, sporting a better display and LTE capabilities,” the firm’s report says. CLSA added that it does not expect Apple to launch a 4G LTE-enabled iPhone this year.

So, um, what can the 10.1 do that the iPad 2 can’t?

    Please be specific.

I always hear this argument used against iOS but rarely get specific examples that are relevant to the majority of users. And when I do, they’re often mistaken that iOS can’t do that.

100 percent better web browsing experience. Get them side by side and you will see. Live wallpapers, customizable Widgets. Awesome notification delivery. Google Music.

I still have not purchased a tablet.  I can’t figure out why people enjoy buying Ipad’s when they are updated within a year.  Why not just buy a nice laptop and it lasts for 5-6 years?  I know many friends who bought Ipads and within a few months there is a new model and they are pissed.
I guess if one has lots of money to burn, then it’s a non-issue.

A faster processor isn’t going to promote fragmentation. Existing apps can be run, and only a handful of games would be designed to run ONLY on the iPad 3.

A retina screen only doubles the resolution, which is easy for developers to update. Further, apps written for the higher resolution can simply be scaled down for older models.

In addition, I would imagine the 4G would cost a premium over the “$499″ WiFi only version, as it currently does with 3G.

Note: I am not endorsing this rumor, as I think it to be bunk. I am merely pointing out the flaws in your argument.

You’re upset that a new version is released YEARLY?

That laptop you bought 6 months ago has probably already been “replaced” with a better version.

Just because a new version of a product comes out does not make YOUR device suddenly obsolete. You can still use it…

Faster iPad that only can browse half the pages because there is no flash … you can bring out ten iPhones and ipads, they do not work ..
What is the point I’d they are faster …

So you get a faster limited web browsing experience. Yay. Not. Say goodbye to battery life. LTE is rough on batteries. Obviously not on my Xoom as it hasnt been updated yet, thanks to motorola BS. When on LTE your battery life will be half. Its a fact.
