BlackBerry Monaco, Monza could be branded ‘Volt’

mobile

We knew right when we exclusively revealed the BlackBerry Monaco and Monza back in January that the devices would likely shed the “Storm” moniker, and now it’s looking even more likely. BlackBerry enthusiast blog N4BB cites multiple sources in suggesting that RIM may have finally landed on a new brand for the full touchscreen smartphone it is preparing to launch later this year: “Volt.” The report is unsure at best however, suggesting that RIM might instead choose to slap the Torch brand on the Monaco 9850 and Monza 9860. We took a hands-on look at the BlackBerry Monaco/Monza — which features a 3.7-inch touchscreen, a 1.2GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera and NFC — back in March.

I’ll never understand these leaks.  Every phone these days comes with a minimum 5MP camera.  How can every picture of every leaked phone be so damn blurry?

the company leaks them to see how people like it and always make it blurry to cover up important text… such as like 4G (not on this phone) or like background papers… always done that way. I think it is dumb too.

I wonder if people who work for RIM reads this site?
well i think they do after replying to the playbook post.

hey RIM guys can i get my headphone jack at the TOP  of my device rather than the side, its really annoying to have it at the side and when in my (fitted) jeans it creates a lot of problems and makes my music experience terrible.

and oh yeah the playbook have a front facing camera right?
so whats up with the “new” devices that are coming out after the playbook…where is my FF? BBM video chat?

Sounds like somebody at RIM likes Formula One.

It doesn’t look like much. I don’t think that it has a chance of being successful. Hopefully I am wrong.

Blackberry needs to just go away, really.  I have a crapberry, and would be more then happy to go back to WM 6.5, thats how unimpressed I am.  The keyboard sucks.  The UI is garbage, and the hardware feels worse then my kids leap pad.  Piece of crap, period.  I only have it because my stupid company push’s it down our throat. Some IT people are idiots!!!!

I really wish they’d added a dual-core processor, front facing cam and HDMI out.  Al least with a dual-core they would’ve been able to upgrade to QNX later on which would make their phones more desireable.  They really need to drop a Tegra 3 on their next round of phones with HDMI and HD front facing cams with QNX or they’re toast.

Oh dear…these “leaks” are getting ridiculous. Same old boring design with an even crappier interface.

WAKE UP RIM! YOU’VE GIVEN UP!
