Sprint’s HTC EVO 3D gets $200 price tag from RadioShack, shipping with Green Hornet 3D

mobile

RadioShack began taking pre-orders for Sprint’s HTC EVO 3D last week, and now the phone’s price tag may have been confirmed to be $200, or $500 off contract. An apparent leaked advertisement suggests that the device will also come with Green Hornet 3D pre-loaded, and it looks like anyone who trades in an HTC EVO 4G or HTC EVO Shift will be able to knock $100 off the purchase price. Unfortunately there still aren’t any details on a specific launch date, but if you want to get your EVO 3D with a hint of Seth Rogen, you may want to head over to your local RadioShack now.

Wait… does that mean that I am not able to upgrade my EVO for the $200 price? I bought the day it came out last year…

I think it depends. I’m a premium member so I can upgrade every yr. vs the two contract. I don’t want to give in my Evo 4G but this deal is hard to say no.

I personally am keeping my Evo 4G as backup incase something happens to my Evo 3D.

Keep in mind also that the Premium program changed recently… Now there are gold and silver tiers. Most customers that come into my store no longer qualify. You should have received a mailer detailing this, but most people chuck it thinking it’s junk mail.

Depends on your contract. Upgrades are either 75$ or 150$ off. . .  If you’re a Silver Premier member its 75$. Gold is $150.

I do not understand how someone can trade in the Evo Shift? I am assuming if you bought it, you are not eligible to upgrade as you have already used the upgrade credit?

they might be using someone elses upgrade to ge the 3d.

Technically wouldn’t it be the SPRINT HTC EVO 3D 4G Powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread featuring Sense 3.0…FTW?!

I was never worried about the on contract price. $200 or $250, It never mattered to me. The Off Contract price is what had me biting my nails. only $499 off contract?? SOLD.

    • Srubia

May I ask why you would be getting the phone off-contract? Are you just jot eligilble or is there another reason?

      • Anonymous

Im assuming his reason is just like mine. My contract is up in NOV I don’t want to be locked in for another 2years so i’ll get it off contract and pay full price. When NOV comes around i’ll see if I want to stay or leave to another network.

I get $150 off in June. But my Contract is up from a TP2 in September Whats 3 months? I could Upgrade…but that freedom of being month to month and able to upgrade whenever you wish(Nexus 3 for Ex.) is not worth $150. Especially considering you’re only saving $6 per month over 24 months. Although Ive been with Sprint 11 years now…obviously Im not going anywhere.

      • fr3dd0

$150 plus the $100 MIR… so $250… and since you get an upgrade every 12 mos (11yr customer = premier gold), you can’t really use 24 for your example since you get the full discount every 12 mos…  some errors in your math…

Could that ad be any more cluttered?

i need to get my eyes checked…was i the only one that thought “how can it ship with Green Lantern?” fail

    • Buster E Smith

The only thing failing is your reading ability, its shipping with. Green HORNET,

      • P00kienrayray

        lol!

  • Sarcasm

That is a really good price point..Although you would have to be crazy to trade in a EVO for only $100 credit considering what you could get off ebay etc.

    • P00kienrayray

yea i liked what radio shack did with their other trade and save programs ($50 off by trading any old working junk phone), but $100 for an evo?? thats ridiculous…

I still don’t understand the current fascination with 3D. Until rendered images begin to appear truly holographic, it just makes things less enjoyable. In my opinion, of course.

    • Jack

It’s not the 3D that’s fascinating… it’s the specs. This is a going to be a powerful phone. And the 3D doesn’t apply to menus… just videos and images (which can be switched to 2D).

  • Scott

I used to envy this phone, that is, until I read about the HTC Holiday. By the end of summer, everyone will have 4G here in Phoenix, but Sprint. No wonder they aren’t attracting customers!

  • filmsnob

Novelty movie on a novelty phone.

  • Dgdmx

Does this mean they finally drop the price of the standard EVO? Its been 199.99 since intro last July- amazing price longevity for a cell phone.

    • Jmorlan77

The Evo is now 99.99 at radio shack Dgdmx

      • P00kienrayray

it’s probably gonna gradually drop to $50 after the 3d launches. But yes the phone has been out for a damn year @ 199.99…but hey it is damn good phone.
