Microsoft may reveal nine new Windows Phones tomorrow

mobile

Microsoft will reveal nine new Windows Phone handsets during its Windows Phone “Mango” press conference on Tuesday morning, according to WMPoweruser. Samsung is expected to have the lion’s share of devices with four new models, HTC and Acer are both expected to launch two, and Dell will supposedly reveal one. Reportedly, Samsung’s Windows Phones will bear some resemblance to its Galaxy S II device, and we’re hoping the phones are equipped with Samsung’s stunning Super AMOLED Plus displays, too. The new devices will hit the market in time for the holiday season according to the report, but no launch details are expected during the announcements. We’ll be reporting live from the press conference tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m., so stay tuned for more.

WRONG! Those of who read Engadget this morning would know the following:

We have confirmation from a reliable source that tomorrow’s event will
be entirely focused on the software, not the hardware. So, anybody
looking for a flotilla of new handsets to be deployed had best get their
    favorite crying pillow handy.

It’s WP7. Sales thus far indicate no one cares, so no one’s looking for anything.

As a consumer, I really dont care how many people have it. Its a joy to use, it looks elegant, runs exceedingly smooth, and there are thousands of apps available for it. As a tech enthusiast I do care what technologies are predominant.

Man people here have short term memories. Nobody seems to remember when android was considered a ‘dud’ after it only had a few million sales after 2 years on the market before everything spiked at once when verizon launched the ‘droid.’ Nokia has yet to launch a phone running this OS yet, and especially with this update and their global reach, I think they will be able to find a good 20-30% of marketshare in the long run.

Oh no, they know… they were the very people who ragged on the G1 and now are all carrying Android handsets in their pockets.  They know, they remember… they just don’t want to acknowledge how wrong they were about Android.

The last issue of Wired (with Andy Samberg on the cover) has an EXCELLENT article about Android vs Apple… every fAndroid should read that article for 2 reasons: 1. It totally pro-Android, in a good way and 2. Keeps the facts straight, unlike most trolls and their made-up facts.

Tomorrow, WPOS will be at 7.5.

What’s iOS at now, 4.x? Looks like Apple will have a lot of catching up to do as they’ll be 3.5 OSs behind.

    Suck it, Jobs.

I will be watching!  I am really hoping Sprint gets something with global roaming, or I will be switching to AT&T.  Really, really excited to see new WP devices, even though no Nokia devices will be announced at this time, which is what  I am really waiting for.

Sadly how much they try to hype this but it’s not grabbing much attention from it… WP7?… no thank you.

I love how quickly you guys forget. No one seems to remember that just 2 years ago no one gave a damn about Android, everyone thought it would be a joke, and now suddenly it’s the be all, end all of the mobile space. Yet because WP7 hasn’t taken off immediately it’s irrelevant and doomed to fail. Give it a minute guys, seriously.

Even Andy Rubin (you know, the FOUNDER of Android) admitted that the G1 was a flop and was getting nervous until they made the deal w/ Moto.
