Slacker intros ‘Slacker Premium Radio’ for $10 a month

mobile

On Tuesday Slacker introduced a new subscription service called “Slacker Premium Radio.” Slacker Premium allows you to search for artists and play songs, or even full albums, on demand. Similar to Rhapsody, you can also cache songs for offline playback on your phone where a 3G or Wi-Fi signal isn’t available. The streaming radio service said that it offers 6 times the amount of music that Pandora offers, although it remains unclear how its library stacks up against Rhapsody or Microsoft’s Zune service. Slacker Premium Radio is available for the web, Android, iOS, and BlackBerry now for $10 per month.

Recently switched from Pandora to Slacker.  Love that that there is more variety with Slacker in song choices.  Also, whatever station you create, you can fine tune it even more.   Pandora does not offer that at all.

If it doesn’t allow you to download for offline listening, download and KEEP 10 songs/month, purchase individual tracks or entire albums….then it doesn’t compare to Zune at all. In fact, it’s nothing like Zune. In fact Zune shouldn’t have even been mentioned at all, it only confuses people that haven’t taken the time to understand exactly what Zune service is. Folks should really think of Zune as a better version of iTunes if anything.

Every song has a link to Buy on iTunes, and you can create and cache (play offline) playlists.

Plus, this is the first All-You-Can-Eat Music service that has a quality ipad app.

Isn’t this what we’re hoping that Spotify is going to eventually offer? Why didn’t you mention them?

Rdio = Spotify in the US. Check it out.

… oh. Oh, my. I’m confused. If we’ve got Rdio and Slacker offering “stream what you want, when you want, all you want” services for reasonable money, why all the excitement for Spotify?

Good bye SiriusXm! I’ve been waiting for 6 months for this and now I can dump SiriusXm and the same 100 songs they play over and over again!

This is the ultimate happiness!  The setting that makes you cache songs for offline playback is just marvelous! Oh I can’t wait to get my hands on this!

Well, Pandora is like one of the first ones who created this kind of guilty pleasure for music lovers so I don’t think they will every get out of style. I guess, they are not really that updated or something.
