Samsung postpones May 24th New York City press event

Breaking

Samsung has just confirmed that it is postponing a press event that was originally scheduled for May 24th in New York City. It’s unclear what Samsung was scheduled to announce, although we suspect it could have been a Galaxy S II U.S. announcement, or an announcement detailing carrier partners for its Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet. Samsung says the event has been “postponed until a later date.”

That girl in the picture dropped the US prototypes and now Samsung needs time to make new ones

They’re way beyond prototyping. This phone has been out in the UK for a while now.

Thats why I said US prototype… as in the prototypes for the U.S.

Oh yeah? How’s the 3G going to work over here?

        Besides, he was obviously joking.

Do they k ow what Apple is doing this weekend and are they afraid it will take all attention?

The Steve Jobs clone must not be finished yet.

I’ve been waiting for this phone to come out in the US for a while now and it’s starting to look like it’s not coming at all. I’m tempted to blow $900 on one on eBay.

Why not just pick it up a year from now when Samsung finally releases the first software update for it?

      • http://twitter.com/_elemenopee_ Kavin Nguyen

LOL people makes such a big deal about Samsung being slow to update. Frankly, i don’t care about when or if they will ever update. There are a lot of custom ROMs out there and most Android users use custom ROMs anyways. By the time this phone releases, you could probably get custom Ice Cream Sandwich for it.

” and most Android users use custom ROMs anyways”

I highly doubt that! Stop sounding so smug. The general public doesn’t have a damn clue what a ROM is.

“most Android users use custom ROMs anyways”

Oh god. A dumber statement has never been typed, written or spoken.

      • http://twitter.com/_elemenopee_ Kavin Nguyen

Well, I should re-phrase that then “everybody I know with an Android uses custom ROMs” and everyone else should know that there are ways to upgrade their Androids instead of waiting for their carrier.

Yet Samsung was the first carrier to update any phone to Gingerbread… go back underground troll.

Are you talking about the Nexus S? It was because it was a “pure Google phone” that it got a quick update, just like the Nexus One.

        @steven75:disqus :

No, I meant the original galaxy S phone… the i9000 in Europe.  It was the first of any phone to be upgraded to Gingerbread from the carrier.
