ViewSonic 7x to launch as first 7-inch Honeycomb tablet

Tablets

ViewSonic is set to become the first company to launch a 7-inch tablet running Honeycomb, according to a new report on Wednesday. Pocket-lint cites anonymous trusted sources in claiming that the new tablet — referred to in the report as the ViewSonic 7x, though it would likely launch under the ViewPad brand — will be unveiled later this month at the annual Computex conference in Taipei. Reported specs for the upcoming Honeycomb tablet include a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, front and rear-facing cameras, HSPA+ support, DLNA support and an HDMI port. The 7x is expected to launch in June in certain markets, though we doubt U.S. availability should be expected any time soon.

He is probably right. Viewsonic made one of the first Tegra 2 tablets, GTablet, and its below $400. I want to see what price tag they put on this. Hope it has a better screen than the GTablet, the viewing angle was horrible.

I am more ingested in the 7″ tablets than those like my iPad. I have noticed that I leave my iPad behind often, even though it is 3g, because it is slightly large.

Nice, I’ve been waiting for a new dual core 7″ Honeycomb tablet. Looks like I’ll be waiting a bit longer though, not a fan of Tegra 2. Wish some of these guys would release something with OMAP 4 or Exynos already. .

Am I the only one who thinks gloss plastic makes stuff look horrible? Matte or brushed finish looks way nicer.

How can people call tablet manufacturers copycats? Its a slate with a touch screen. Thats like saying dell is a copycat of HP, which is a copycat of lenovo just because all of thier laptops have keyboards. Some people need to grow up. this fascination with dying for ur favoitie brand is old and pretty FUE is u ask me. We need more copycats to bring down the prices.
