HBO Go for iOS and Android surpasses 1 million downloads

mobile

During the Streaming Media East 2011 press event in New York City this morning, HBO’s co-president Eric Kessler said that the network’s HBO Go mobile application has been downloaded more than 1 million times in just one week. The app launched late last month for iOS and Android devices. HBO Go provides access — via Wi-Fi or 3G — to more than 1,400 titles including popular HBO shows such as True Blood, The Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Boardwalk Empire, and more. It’s available in the Android Market and iTunes App Store now if you’re looking for your fill of Larry David on the bus ride home today.

Does anyone know if this app will work on the Xoom?

Sure it was downloaded over a million times, but how many hundreds of thousands of downloads said “Not available for your device” after installation? Both of my Androids are incompatible with the service.

Yet every single iOS device runs it fine. Hmmm……………

Not my iphone4. Thank you, assholes, at TWC for your incompatibility to this app. Love how you thought your streaming app was appropriate for mobile devices but the hbo app isn’t. Love the two-faced ways.

Not in HD. NO THANK YOU!! Even on their website. It’s Bonkers!

You’re watching on a 3.5 to 10″ screen. There’s no need for HD. I love when people NEED the greatest available just because it exists. “Mid-size family sedan without a 500HP V8…NO THANK YOU” ……pffffffffft

    what about tiw warner?

HBO Go doesn’t support Cablevision or Time-Warner. Why no cable support? Especially in the tri-state area where Cablevision & Time-Warner rule.
